Default question about editing movie clips..

I have nikon coolpix s1 and the software that comes with it picture project doesn't edit movies and they come in avi files I wondering if there a free download where I can edit my clips?? Thanks

If you have windows XP you already have a program called Windows movie maker.

How did you get it work ? Everytime I tired it said couldn't read the avi file and needed to be coverted to either mov or wmv file I cant remember.

Ok I got this *** backwards.. The files are .mov and I need to convert them to i guess avi or wmv ??
