Default Micro On-road cars

**Edit** Realized HPI's were not out yet.

Looking for a decent micro car. I have an X-mod so I guess my expectations of these little things are low, but they are fun.

I know Kyosho has them, anyone else?

I'm not looking for a racing setup, I have my MM powered TC4 if I have the need for stupid speed. I drive it on my basement floor, maybe a parking lot.

What are your experiences if you have any.

I need some info on them all together.

X-mod vs. Mini-Z vs. HPI vs. anything else.

Mini-Zs and Xmods are toys compared to Hpi's. Plus the HPIs you can upgrade with many better parts. Xmods now come with transformer bodies and the old evos are being sold out. Mini-Zs are for people who have lots of money and little space. Takes ALOT of money to get how you like it. My friend is getting a drift RS4 and already has one right now that is brushless. Fun in parking lots and drag races. ^^ Well its your money but I say RS4!

I really liked the RS4 micro when I had them. Fast and they hold up pretty well.

Micro Rs4s can be made ballistic, with the Aktion RC 540 motor conversion kit. Pretty mad stuff, I've got one myself.

Mini zs are not toys but xmods are. Mini zs and xmods are far smaller at 1:28 scale. Unless your race with other mini zs I wouldnt get it I would get something a tad larger.

For micro on-road racing, I've raced HPI Micro RS-4, Mini z, Xmod, and Xray. All of the above mentioned are toys compared to the Xray M18! That is a much more serious machine. Also check out the new Associated micro on road racer. Also the Robitronic 1/18 scale pan car should be awesome but haven't seen one yet in person.

Ok, with the x-ray, does it take standard electronics?

What size motor do I need with that. The kit seems to be the same as the RS4 kit, I would prefer the HPI, but can't find them.

the xray is a good choice, i get to play with one when i go to my lhs, and if i wasnt so addictide to building crawlers i would probably get one before another hpi
