| Battle of the Axles--Which do you think is best?
The Battle of the Axles. This battle has probably been going on since its release. This battle is between TLT axles and Wheely King axles. Everyone seems to have their own reasoning why each one is better. But what is the real truth? Well, for all of you out there with TLT axles and Wheely King axles, post here. What is needed is-- Axle Your Opinion What you think are the strongest areas of the axle What you think are the weakest areas of the axle Pro's of using that particular one Con's of using that particular one Anything else that is better or worse You can copy and paste the list below to your reply to make it easier-- Axle-- My opinion-- Strong areas-- Weak areas-- Pro's of using-- Con's of using-- Anything else I dislike or like-- The purpose of this thread is to help people who are new to shafty's make an educated decision on which axle is "better." Also, please vote in the poll. Please answer all of the questions. Thank you, and enjoy! |

a quick search might help with info on each axle. If most newbs would do a little digging before starting a build or asking questions you wouln't need this. and pretty soon you'll need to ask the same question w/ axial axles as well. so this is kinda useless. |

You got me all excited. I thought you actually stress tested all the 2.2 and super axles.

What about twin/mad force axles? Pros: -You can swap ring and pinion gears for different ratios. -Metal Ring and pinion with optional hardened units. -Beefy 1/8 scale construction. -You can make them any width you want.(with the correct lenght dog bones) Nearly unlimited possibilities. -You have the option to run the diffs with silicone, locked, TCD Diffs, or torsion diffs. Pretty much any 1/8 scale parts will work. -You have the option to run the diff offset or center. Cons: -A touch on the expensive side. (new) -Parts are a little hassle to get. RCP and kyosho have them all though. -Making the axles narrower requires a little DIY and X-length dog bones. A relatively easy diy but still a custom job none the less. -Require some custom work to set them up with a four link. I am sure there is more. But they are not TLT or WK so I guess they don't count. |

I would just forget about this and wait for the axial axles to make themselves known. Then do a 4 way comparison, PTI, TLT, WK and Axial...

Just don't include a poll. They are pointless and provide little if any technical info. Edit: looks like it has been moved allready. Edit your first post and change the poll options if you can. Last edited by _BEN_; 07-31-2007 at 02:54 PM. | |
