I still think they kick ***.
before he was officially 'out', some high school friends and myself went to see them on the 'screaming for vengeance' tour. we saw him get in a limo after the show, and start kissing on two men that were in the back before the door shut. no one believed us.

and they kick @$$! 'unleashed in the east' is their best album imo.

i have to disagree here. lars was never bad @$$. he is a self taught drummer with lousy technique. listen to those early records and he speeds up and slows down all over the place. before pro tools, recording engineers used to piece his drum tracks together using multiple tape recorders, chopping and cutting until they got a usable drum track.

but what the heck.....his place is over flowing with original picasso paintings, not mine!

Ok how about this, he used to play alot better, although choppy at times?

not that there is anything wrong with being self taught. for example, neil peart and dave lombardo are both self taught. but, neil has taken lessons in the later part of his career. it's just when you are self taught, you miss out on a lot of information that helps your playing.

The song "turn the page" is OK, but the video is definately disturbing... the whole kid in the bathtub sleeping while mom's in the next room turning a trick scenario is just disturbing.
