Default is this a good cnc machine?

ok guys my dad an I have been into crawling for a wile (mostly me my dad thinks its cool) and now we want to start making parts.Im thing mostly plastic ,derlin stuff like that.So I looked on ebay for some good small cnc machines and found this beast.http://cgi.ebay.com/Taig-cnc-mill-4-...ayphotohosting
so for those of you who mill/cnc parts dose this look like a good machine to start on? Im ok with 3d cad and my dad is amazing with computers so thats not a problem.Aslo it says to use mach 3 software any one ever use it?


let me know what you guys thing,we are really excited about all this and want to get going! oh and what kind of bits will i need? And yes I did quite a bit of searching but dident really find any thing on this modle...thanks

I don't know much about that particular mill personally, or the Mach 3 software, but someone else here might.

Cool, a 4th axis, looks like it has a cnc index wheel. That should make just about anything you would need out of delrin. Just get ready to tear up alot of tooling if this is your first time with cnc. Z stop???? Whats that............BANG!!!!

You should get this one.


My dad actually has one like this for the business he owns. And i can run it. I dont know how much it costs but i am guessing a whole lot. If i am lucky, i can make parts with it once we figure out the programing thing.

sweet thanks for all the advise...I think we will go with this one,seems to be a good machine and I think it will do what we want and then some.Any ways thanks for the help and look for my products soon!

not much horse power on those taig

I have been researching like crazy
Harbor freight is JUNK
Taig is for very simple light work

I have my eyes on the Shopmaster Bridgemill :-P http://www.shoptask.com/

heard a lot of good, very little skeptical bad
