| sailing anyone?
Now that it is summer time, i went up to newport Rhode island for another summer of sailing. I figured i would ask if anyone here has done any sailing. So far i have been doing regattas in 420s and 49ers. I am also doing a regatta august 18 for a new single person boat called an open bic. Check out some of these picks. Might change your view on sailing. Open bic. 49er. These things are awesome. Extremely fast. http://www.kanto-aw.co.jp/jp/sailing/49er/img/p01.jpg race 420 http://www.ibisailing.com/images/ibi_420_start.jpg OLYMPIC FINN |

moth If you look closely the boat is completely in the air. The rudder on these boats have a hydro-foil and lift the boat. a spectacular sight when you see it in person. not a sailboat but uses the same principle |

I love to sail. I'm a CBYRA certified racing skipper, used to compete with lazers and force 5's - but that's been 15 years or so ago. Maybe I can get an opinion from some of you guys that still sail - I'd like to get something lazerish to sail on the lakes we have here locally, one maybe two people on the boat. Any recommendations? I'm sure (as evidenced by the moth) that these boats have come a long way since I sailed them.

For the situation you are in i would look into a club 420. Depending on your skill or intensity level you could pick weather to put trap lines and spinnaker lines. If you have these two options, you can move much faster, but you will have a lot of lines going through the boat. You can point high and go very fast with 420s. If you want something a bit more relaxed you could go for a JY15. My dad had one when i was little and i grew up on it. What a blast! Here are list of some other boats that fit your criteria FEVA HUNTER 140 J22 -a bit bigger and more expensive (keel boat) NOMAD PICO VECTOR | |

| awesome. i sail regattas whenever i get a chance. If anarchy is a team than on and off. I sailed for 2 teams for optis. I cant sail the whole year around and that would make it hard to be on a dedicated team. Really wish i could though. Sailing is awesome, i love the freedom you have out in the open ocean...Its just you and your boat.
