Boat guys, need your help..Cavitation?? Hey guys, I got the new boat running, I installed the receiver and made sure the ESC was at neutral. I sat in the pool to make sure there were no leaks and I also gave it a quick try...it barely goes anywhere :-? I think the prop is spinning so fast that it cavitation is occurring...or will this style of boat cavitate untill it gets moving? I dont want to burn up the motor or ESC so I want to be sure. If it is cavitation how do I fix that? should I try adjusting the prop so it sits deeper in the water? Also the ESC when you hit the gas stays on for a few secs each time :?: anyway to dial that out? its a water proof tekin model. Thanks for the help guys, I took a video to show what its doing. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...h_100_2954.jpg |
You need to go run it on a lake or somewhere larger. It will cavitate starting out...(see example A) You can't get enough speed in that pool to check it... I am willing to bet, once it gets up on plane, its going to accelerate massively"thumbsup" You need a smaller boat for the pool!8)! Example A: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...64680481&hl=en Link to Respectable boat parts! http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/ I wouldn't mind this one... Don't remember the stats. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...09404484&hl=en |
X2/\/\ You need way more room for a boat that fast. |
Guys I took it to the lake... I will be posting pics later...I will say this ...the boat is VERY FAST "thumbsup" and you guys were right, it had to get going...my stepdad said the same thing once I showed him. Thanks for the help -MIke |
All my boats Cavitate for about 2 secs... its the only way I keep them from blowing over on shotgun starts. |
