Losi xx Buggy ?'s

well i got a losi xx buggy in a trade as a roller so i threw a 12t traxxas motor in it with a 21t pinion. My questions are what is the stock gearing? both the pinion and spur. and the other question is what temp is normal for a 12t motor after running through a pack? thanks in advanced"thumbsup"

What color is the spur gear?

And getting to hot depends on a bunch of stuff. If you cant hold your finger on it for more then 2 seconds, it's to hot.

The spur gear is almost like a lime green color. And i can touch the motor for awhile befor it gets too hot to touch.

That's a 88 tooth spur. And the pinion is fine for that motor. Put a 20 tooth or 19 for a cooler run.

With a 12 turn you might want to shorten the run time, and not drain the pack. Six minutes is about max on a brushed motor before it's starts to destroy itself. You might need to clean and tru the comm, and put some new brushes on too.

When it's hot, put your thumb on the motor and count 1....2. If you jerk your hand back before that its way to hot and needs some repairs, over geared, throttle happy, or the transmission is really bound up.

Ok thanks i might get a 19t then. After about a 10 min bash session, 1/2-3/4 throttle i could hold my finger on the motor for about a long 5 seconds before it reall started to get hot. and thats with a 3600 7 cell battery so i think its working out well. and btw do you have a losi xx?

Yeah, I've had a few losi cars in my time. :-P
