I just got 6 Ti screws holding a Ti plate across a broken Fibula on Tuesday.

They seriously better have used Loctite or locking washers or I'll be pissed!

I think they used 2 ti screws to fasten my ACL, I could walk befor my surgery but felt real unstable the slightest little bump to the knee and it would try to pop out of place and buckle on me. Everything went real well in surgery today. I thought it would be longer befor I was able to get around enough to get to the computer but good drugs and crutches and little time and I'm set.

Had mine done in 91. I now have a condition, can't remember the name, but my knee cap doesn't move properly, it shifts from side to side. I was told it was because I didn't wear the propper knee brace post surgery (years after) when I went back to hiking / biking / playing basketball. Now, if I don't wear my brace and try any strenous sports type activity my knee will swell up and hurt. My advice, DO AS THE DOC SAYS! I was stupid and thought "I can't feel it so it must be ok". Wish I had listened. Now its either brace regularly or surgery.

Now where did I put that brace.......You think I'd learn.

Man, Fri. after the surgery I was getting around the house prety good on crutches, then Sat. hit I couldn't move if i tryed same with Sun. around Sun night I was feeling ok to move around again and Today was even better so I just need to take it easy and not rush it. I have a nice slice down my knee cap about 4"-5" long and 2 smaller ones (1 on each side of knee) where the did orthoscopic (SP) next time I have my bandages off I'll take some pics.

mine was supposed to be done with the scope....i was only supposed to have 3 holes the size of the erasor on a #2 pencil.....

i woke up and had a cut 4.5 inches long down the side of my kneecap, and the 3 small holes....

the surgeon ended up taking my kneecap completely out and sanding it down to get some chips and stuff off of it......

o yah, and my scar is wierd........the scar tissue puffed up ......think the doc called it a keeloid (sp?) and said they could cut me back open, take out the scar tissue, and sew it back up......but then it might still heal the same way......i said screw it and let it stay.......

i think its cause they left the stitches in WAY to long (they were in for like 4 months)

I sat up too long and mine swelled up like a balloon. You have the same scars as I do. Take it easy and do your pt.

I posted some pics. here earlier but I guess they didn't think it was ok to post so there gone. I even had my TQ3 next to my sliced knee to keep it involved with RC, and to show scale wise how long the slice is.
