Default Hillary Clinton..un-friggin'-believeable!!!

hillary is now proposing that the government bail out people that are defaulting on their home loans. you know, people that took out a no down payment loan, on a house they could never possibly afford, with insane interest rates.

it's called self responsibility folks! no way am i paying for someone else's home while i still rent, scrimp and save until i can AFFORD to buy my own home.

you signed on the line, you choke on it! it isn't the responsibility of the american people to bail you out. hurricanes, floods, broken levys, natural disasters are one thing, but your home loan is not a state of emergency.

Amen. I own a house (as in it's paid for) because I work hard, and looked long and hard for a place I liked that wouldn't over extend me. If I had done something stupid (or should I say, when I have done something stupid in the past) I have never looked to anyone to bail me out. I sucked it up and took care of business. No way to I think I should be responsible for bailing out someone who made a mistake unless it's my son, daughter, or maybe my brother, since one time he did come to my assistance, though of his own accord, not my asking him to.....and I paid him back!

The US is quickly turning into a socialist empire. It will be a big part of the reason that this country wont last very long on the world scale. We are but a young country still, but already driving ourself into the ground through the power of the presidents.

Intead of bailing people out of there own sh!t pile how bout go after the companies that sell the crappy no down interest only stick it to ya loans that have 10 to 20 homes in my area being or already have been forclosed on. I sell loans and life insuranc part time and I could never sleep if I were selling people that crap! I have seen a half dozen or so loans of my neighbors and I can't believe the terms on some of them.
Oh, and as far as Hillary being president..... Not if I can help it! She will not get this vote!

If this happens, I'm gonna have to stop making the payments on my house. That money could go to something better.

Another way to make idiots unaccountable for their actions.

I just love the blame shifting that goes on. Great country to a fault!

I think creditors are to blame.

Back in the day if you needed a loan you spoke with a a dude at the bank, he looked at your financial status and sat down with you face to face to go over things.

These days all creditors look at is your debt to income ratio...which never reflects your total debt per month.

I worked part time for a buddy of mine that a car dealership...soldiers comprised a vast majority of his buyers.

I was amazed to see that these folks were getting car loans and paying as much as $400 a month for the payment alone (high interest is a killer) then would have to add insurance on top of that.

These kids were bringing in less than $1,000 a month after taxes...several of them still had other bills to contend with.

The bad thing is that, as a business, the concern about whether or not the person can afford the payment doesn't fall in the hands of the salesman, his job is only to get you into a car you can "afford". If the lending companies run a credit check and approve you, that's all the dealership is concerned about. Once you sign and the paperwork is sent to the bank the dealer's work is done.

Same crap with the housing market.

gregrocks, I've found it easier to buy than rent. The longer you rent the longer you pay someone else's mortgage. You don't build equity by renting.

That is insane. Agreed on the lack of self-accountability.

Edit: I just read the article and listened to her actual speach. She's also very much in favor of stopping predatory lending institutes from lending to people who can't afford it.

Everyone wants all the rights with no responsibitity. That's pretty much what our country is comming down to. People want to be able to do anything but as soon as something bad happens they sue somebody because it wasn't their fault.

For all you young and even some of you older guys out there, BUY a house, DON'T rent. Do whatever it takes, live at home, move in with a whole bunch of your annoying friends, stop spending money on stupid stuff, get rid of or don't start a credit card debt, and save your money for the down payment and make sure you can afford the payments even if it hurts your lifestyle. Homes and property are the only major investments that most people make that GAIN in value as they age. You'll be building equity which means your credit rating/borrowing power increases just in case you need money for an emergency(like medical bills). I bought my house in '96 on a 15 year mortgage and really had to bite down the first few years. I mean $20 would blow my budget in a month. But now 11 years later the value has tripled and in 4 years I'm clear.

I agree if you bought it you should have to pay for it. Although the Bonds that back the loans will fall into default if all of these idiots are foreclosed on. This would not only affect people looking to buy new home in higher interest rates but it would devastate the investors that backed the idiots. Additionally many of these bonds are guaranteed by the federal government so they (we) will be paying for it either way. If there is any bailing out for the idiots that bought these houses it should be letting them refinance and pay for their houses for an eternity or at least make them pay the principal. I think the government needs to figure out a way to reduce the losses that are coming now the market is swinging back to the buyer. That $600,000 house is now worth considerably less and they cant even sell it.

My opinion is that we are at war and as soon as the Dems take over I'd put money on the fact that it wouldn't be long until we have another Terrorist attack on our on soil...so to that end we need to take it to the terrorists!
