You dont have to worry about the transfercase i had a 97 gsx running about 450hp to the ground i never had an issue with the transfer case in the 7 years i owned it and believe me i was hard on it. just dont go crazy trying to launch the thing like a drag car and you will be fine. as for upgrades you can find them just about any where parts are the same that motor has been around for ever.

now on to what to look for in a used one:
one of the most common problems is a bad turbo to check for this get the owner to let you take off the lower tube on the intercooler(located on the passanger side in front of the wheel) stick you finger inside and rub it around checking for oil puddling inside of it(tell tail sign of a blown turbo)

hope this sheds some light on the subject if you need any more info shoot me a PM

I do like the Gen 2 looks. Did they make it in a convertible w/V6 and turbo?

I say forget the Eclipse, get a new V8 and conversion kit, put that in the Fiero and dust anything on the road!

Seriously though the G2 GST w/ the turbo always seemed faster than any v6 I ever drove. Plus it looks a lot better.

I think I am sold on the Gen 2 GS-T Convertible. It will be a little under what I want to spend, looks sharp, and has a plethra of parts, mods I can do. Not I just need to find one with a 5 Speed Manual

I owned a Eclipse Turbo Spyder

Loved the way it drove , To bad Mistubishi never fixed the Crank Walk issue.
The crank will walk back and forth wearing the block until the car wont run.

Would advise doing so research on that issue as it is a common problem.
