| : Just thinkin': RC crawlers and personalities
I am just wondering if rock crawlers cars and people are kinda like dogs and people. Ya know, Like how alot of rich middle aged women and the micro mini toy dog fad? Or the Old fashoned guy with plenty o' loot but still chooses to drive a 64 Ford Well it got me thinkin' about a friend and my discussion last night regarding Wheely kings vs Axial scorpions. It'd be nice to buy a crawler already set up for crawling sans electronics. but it'd also be nice to buy a kinda crawler and build it into a real crawler, so I think it's kinda like asking somebody: If money were not an issue what would you get? A vintageHarvester Scout/(WK) or a New Rubicon Wrangler/(Axial) ?? The scout doesn' thave all the gizmos the Rubi has, but it can be built into something wonderful. The Rubi is what it is( to a point). So I think a person's personality comes into play in a big way with RCs even. Son't get me wrong I'm not dissin' either rig , just thinking out loud |

I've never been a big RTR fan. For me, building is half the enjoyment. RTR crawlers are going to help crawling grow though, they are'nt nessecarily all bad. So.... what's the real-truck equivalant of a stock TLT? |

I like building more than running them, its pretty bad to the point where my WK has not even been driven it just sits with dust on it.

I don't mind RTR's, the fact that it's factory built has never kept me from tearing one apart and modding it! I've always felt as long as it didn't have to get me to work the next morning, why worry about it being in pieces!

Lets just say I don't keep anything stock. It's a horrible habit of mine.

I got an axial kit in the mail today from the crawler store, I think its a great thing to be able to get all the key components all in on box, I still would ditch the chassis in favor of something that I would build, but still it is a good thing to get a locked tranny and axles with all the driveshafts and links. It's alot better than scavanging ebay for parts, and alot more cost effective.
