Rub olive oil all over yourself and roll in bird seed. They'll love ya and follow you anywhere. Wear a cup.

Stop being a 3rd wheel and let them live! Just kidding, keep playing with them and they will come around.

My brother had a Nanday Conure years ago, when he first arrived he was the same. It took him a couple months to get used to us and trust us. Once he did if he saw someone come near his cage he'd hop right over to the door. Then all you had to do was open his door, he'd hop out on the edge and onto your finger right away. Then he'd walk up your arm and sit on your shoulder, and it was tough to get him back off again to put him away. He was a good pet IMO. He was 'sposed to have clipped wings, but he learned to fly again anyway. And he was'nt 'sposed to be able to talk, but we taught him to say "hello". You're doing the right thing, just "be their friend" and they'll come around. Talk softly to them and don't make sudden moves. They have smaller brains than a dog or cat and it takes them a little longer, that's all... Last edited by Big Mike; 08-21-2007 at 11:22 AM. |
