Looking for a new bike..(MX) welp..rolled my fourwheeler pretty bad ..so I wanna get a dirtbike instead, cause none of my friends race quads anymore. I'm pretty short (like 5'6) soo, I was looking at the TTR125LE but They're not fast! :( and my cousin has a YZ 125 but I think thats too big...opinions? |
Just don't buy a 2 stroke. 4 strokes are taking over now days. |
But you can't beat the snap of a 2 stroke, but the 4 strokes torque is like a tractor. |
the 4 strokes will last longer also |
Anyone into pit bikes? |

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ltongeared.jpg Are you going to be trailriding, playriding @ a track or looking to get into racing?? A YZ125 is an awesome scooter. There are places that can shorten the suspension if it is really an issue. Have you considered a bigwheel KX100, or maybe they call them a 105 these days, I know KTM has one. They are a 'tweener bigger than a standard 80-85 and not quite the full blown 125 size bike. Honda just introduced a 4stroke 150, it's also aimed @ the guys too big for a standard 80-85 or too small for a fullsize 125. It's supposed to be quite the little bike from what I've heard and read. Lots of adult women riding that one. I'm thinking you're still pretty young and haven't stopped growing...I'd try to stay on the smaller bikes so you can learn to be more aggressive with your riding style. Bigger bikes and bigger engines can develop lazy riding habits. If you're ringing the neck of a smaller CC bike, you're ready to move up a size:lol: |
We have 60 acres and I bought Bracey a pw50 for her birthday. I took the tractor and box blade and made some cool trails for her. I've been looking at some 125 pit bikes to ride with her. |
Those little klx110's are a blast...semi-auto trans and just enough power to make you think twice:lol: My wife has a Suzuki DRZ125 4 stroke, it's a blast:twisted: I can bottom out both ends of the bike just going off the curbs:shock: I abuse the HELL out of the thing and it keeps puttering along, I think I just adjusted the valves after almost 3 years of mostly my abuse8) I just wish it had better suspension and brakes. Guess a guy could always call BBR.8)That said, I think I'd buy a Honda, but any of the little bikes these days are Claw-hammer reliable"thumbsup" |

A ttr90 or what?? Find a good clean YZ/CR/KX/RM/KTM 85 and ride it till you outgrow the thing. They are about the same size as the ttr125, especially the bigwheel versions. The 2strokes will be dirt cheap, everyone wants a 4stroke. Just make sure someone that knows bikes looks it over closely for you. Most "kids" have NO FRIGGIN' CLUE about maintenance on these bikes:shock: Have you got a good, knowledgeable dealer in your area that supports the local MX scene?? There's the best place to start"thumbsup" |
