1.9er comp ?

With the 1.9er buggy builds going on, what would it take to make a 1.9 comp series?

Who would set the rules?

Is it even enough interest?

Harley 10-20-2007 06:54 PM

What are the rules that are usually used at the Agusta scale comp?

Just Zach 10-20-2007 06:54 PM

Sounds like fun to me, but its going to be hard to get it to catch on
4.25" tires max, max 10" wheelbase

Harley 10-20-2007 06:55 PM

seems like it would be hard to get a decent set of rules, unless you only wanted to allow buggies.

Since the lexan bodies vary so much. Even the hard bodies we use have a pretty broad range.

BTW, I think it would be a blast though.

I think a 1.9'er comp class would be sweet i am down for it "thumbsup"

That would make 3 in our group...

Looks like we need to build a 2.2 and 1.9er coarse in my backyard!

Mine would make four then! And aggressive said he is gonna build one too!

braceysdad 10-20-2007 07:40 PM

Do you guys want to stick to the rules that justgiveereh suggested?

mississippirocs 10-20-2007 07:42 PM

I think the main thing would be the WB. It could be a spec tire class requiring everyone to run the same tire.

dieselfuel 10-20-2007 09:31 PM

ive got a set of tlts and HPI stockcar wheels sitting here, lets do it!

yes 10" wb and 4.25" tire height limit, making sectioned 2.2 tires legal. now what aout bodies for1.9 class comp trucks? 1:18 scale bodies?

dieselfuel 10-20-2007 09:39 PM

actually 1:18 bodies would be too small. most are around 6-7" wb. tuber it is then.

STEEL_CITY_CRAWLER 10-20-2007 09:43 PM

i say 1.9 tube frames.

10 inch WB

4 cell battery packs, 35T brushed motors, if not even a handout. if they run racers for 8 minute heats on 4 cells, we should be able to run 35T motors off of 4 cells

Just Zach 10-20-2007 10:07 PM

Chassis mounted batteries, 6 cell max, I hate to limit motor because it can be hard to find certain ones sometimes. There are several lexan bodies out there that have about a 10" wheelbase. You just have to look. I would have to bet some of the bug bodies we are using would fit right. Ha, I bet that irritated somebody. Bug bodies rule!

dieselfuel 10-20-2007 10:17 PM

i agree 6 cell max/ 2cell li-po max, chassis mounted. meaning not on the axles, knuckles, upper or lower links etc...

how about a track width spec? 10" max?

DeaDShorT 10-21-2007 10:21 AM

A 6 cell 1500 2/3c pack, readily available from CBP, Holmes, TCS, and others. Tamiya silver can motor, dime a dozen and easy to come by...great for a handout/spec motor. Tires...thats tough, but I think reduced 2.2's should be allowed.

What do you guys think about dig/disconnect?

10" x 10" wb, trackwidth. 12" between gates. Those dimensions might knock out Wheely King axles on width.

What about chassis dimensions on tubers...

SACCO 10-21-2007 10:23 AM

1.9 scale comp, or just 1.9 comp???

I say limit tires to available 1.9's

bbyrd22 10-21-2007 10:33 AM

I'm down.

I'd say tubes or scale body's. 10" wheelbase limit, 9" trackwidth limit, linked or leafed, no dig.

dieselfuel 10-21-2007 11:21 AM

1.9 comp not scale comp... some of the utah guys already have some 10" 1.9 tubers built up.

reduced 2.2 tires should be allowed, just limit the height to 4 1/4... and silver can motors would kill it in my opinion... maybe limiting it to brushed motors would be cool.
