If you know for sure that you will be entering a rig to the build off make a post saying "I'm in" or somthing like that so i can get an estimate on how many people that will be competing in the build off.

Look like we have ~10 people. Not bad i guess. If this build off goes good we will have another in the spring.

would leaf sprung suspension be considered "more scale" if it was on a newer model vehicle?

Does it have to be 4wd? Can it be 2wd? 6wd?

Either way, I will build something to suit the rules decided upon.

IN!

There will be a set of rules and if they are not followed you will be disqualified. There will be some sort of prize for the winner(s). If you have any questions feel free to ask. When the deadline comes around I will be asking all the builders to post pics and specs or their rigs. And i will be creating a poll with everybodys name on it who's truck meets all the rules and will let the community of RCC decide the winner.

Build off rules.

1. 1.9 scale wheels and tires must be used
2. The wb must be scale to the body.
3. You may enter a work in progress truck.
4.If your truck is not a running truck by the end date it will not be counted in the build off. It MUST be a fully rtr truck.
5. A leaf sprung suspension will be more scale but you can still use a 4 link setup.
6. Body should look scale, (either hard or lexan)
7. You may enter a already going project but it has to be 50% or less completed. If you want to enter a truck you already built or bought it has to be 50% different than it is now.
8.The build off starts at 12:00 am tonite
9. You must have pics and specs posted by 12:00 am Nov 25.

post up these things.
  • Any rules or rule changes you would like to see.
  • When you think the end date should be
  • And any other comments or suggestions.
Good luck to everybody.
Also all bs posts will be deleted

IMO scalers with leaf springs are more scale. Thats a good point you bring up too though.

This build off is a pretty realaxed on the rules. Not all trucks are 4wd so i would have to say a 4x2 truck would be fine, the 6x6 on the other hand will be a bit more challenging to make "scale" to a body. But if your up to a challenge then go for it.

How is it that IYO, scalers are more scale with leafs?
You do realize, not all 1:1's have leafs?
My XJ for example, has leafs in back, and coils in front.

lookey what I started

the people of the forum will decide which truck is the best scaler, the folks in the build off will be very few votes towards the winner.

So, Mike has his opinion, we have our own, but none of em really matter
