The problem with the Blu-Ray is its soon to be dead. All of the movie companies running both HD and BR have gone all HD now.

Remember Laser Disc and BetaMAX? Those were also Sony's best foot forward in a costly change to the market, everytime beaten by another companies more open and more adaptable.

I'm not saying the PS3 is worse or better, but if you want game selection and RELIABLE and POPULAR online community gaming, you have only 1 option...360.

I would go with the 360. I love mine. Also I play mine alot and have never gotten the "red light of doom" My 360 has been very reliable. I love it.

I have also played the ps3, things a POS in my opinion, I just don't like the feel of it. The xbox controller works much better for game with vehicles.

Not true. Looks at Disney, one of the highest grossing movie makers. And all of their new DVD releases as also on Blu-Ray exclusively.

i personally own a 360 till theres more exclusives on the ps3 that will make it worth the costs. ill proly buy one when gran turismo 5 comes out... IF its better then Forza Motorsports 2. the 360 already has a great collection of games with atleast 10 more coming before xmas. im still putting hours into my gamecube, so having the "latest and greatest" isnt as important to me. i aslo dont own halo 3 and get plenty of enjoyment out of my 360

I second that one...Go to Best Buy and compare the two sections...

I still look at it that if it does die...I still have a great system that upconverts DVDs.

blu ray is more about disk size for games... i think its somewhere in the range of 3x the size of 360 disk in terms of storage area. sony built their hardware with every intention of pushing games to their graphical limits and fitting it all on one disk. i consider blu ray as a movie format to be more of a novalty... like umd movies. thats just some psp owners have one more thing to drain their pockets. those of us who are smart know that we can rip out own movies and drop them on the memory card and save $20 on a umd movie we already own in dvd format

Careful with the 40gig PS3, they disabled the backwords compatibility on the cheaper version now. My PS2 doesn't run as smooth as it used to, and if I ever do upgrade to the PS3, it better be able to play all of my older games as well.

Yup - because xbox fans found out with Project Gotham 4, you can only cram so much on to a standard DVD. They had to cut out the daytime sequencing because it too up too much room.

So go buy a $50 PS2. Even with software emulation, not all the PS2 games play that well on the 80GB versions, or 60GB version. I'd rather have the hardware made to play the game instead of an emulator to try and play it.

80GB:
Upgradeable 2.5" HDD
4 USB 2.0 ports
IEEE 802.11b/g Wi-Fi
Flash card readers
SACD playback
Software Emulation of PS2

40GB:
Upgradeable 2.5" HDD
2 USB 2.0 ports
IEEE 802.11b/g Wi-Fi
No PS2 Compatibility

I only mentioned the 40GB because its cheaper and most everyone complains about the price, but for $499 you get the whole package.

Thats news to me, got anymore info on this? For some reason I dont think sony would cut the backwards compatibility as thats 85% of there market right now I still play ps1 and 2 games on mine. Just about everyday really.

Yeap...the dropped the price on the 80GB and added a free controller to the 60GB to make a difference.

Controller is $50...

And you still get 5 free Blu-Ray Movies free...(Rebate must be postmarked by 10/31)

I got to get mine in...
