Default 1:1 tractor pulling

Does anyone keep up with/watch the pulling series on ESPN2 (I think that's the network)? What type of diesel engines do the guys run on the single-engine pullers? They are ##v-# or some similar name setup.

In the NTPA SS/PS division, it all depends, the popular choice is an inline-6 (mostly IH or JD block)bored/stroked out to around 500-540 CI on 3-4 turbos. This setup generates in excess of 3000-4000HP depending on how many turbos, etc. Other guys run V-8 diesels with similar charger setups. If you were watching the Super Farm tractors, they run a single turbo'd large cube motor with around 1500 HP.

Wish I still pulled locally, but its an expensive sport and too competitive for my taste. Guys go overboard to win and I've seen alot of cheating.
