| Arizona residents = lucky!
Just got back from visiting my wife's family in Tucson, Arizona. Man, what a difference that place is to where I live! I mean, Greater Vancouver is a fantastic place, with awesome skiing, snow boarding, mountain biking, golfing, fishing, sailing, etc. When the weather is great, the place really can't be beat in my humble opinion. But that's the problem... the weather isn't always great! Or even 'good' much of the time. When we left Vancouver, it was a raining, snowing, slushy mess. My wife and I were glad to get away from there... Tucson was a little colder in the mornings than at home, but everyday was just beautiful! According to our hosts, about 90% of the time, the weather is just the same as when we were there... it just gets a 'little' hot in the summer. Then when we got home, the slushy snow was gone, but the rain was in full force. And now today, it looks like somebody painted the sky a dull gray color... So here is a shout out to Arizona in general, and Tucson in particular! So much stuff to do, loads of friendly people, killer weather and amazing rock crawling spots (RC & 1:1) everywhere! |

| I was in Houston a few years back. Didn't have much time to explore or do anything so I don't remember much about the place. I do recall MASSIVE freeways everywhere, some crazy mall with valet parking, and seeing a LOT of women smoke cigars. Good times! Now THAT is funny stuff. |

| Oops... I sorta took that wrong the first time. Hard to explain, but I was thinking 'weather' not 'climate' if that makes any sense... My father in law lives in So. Cal, and my wife grew up in Yorba Linda. So, I get down there every once in a while. |

Man what i would do to go down to Arizona to dry out for a while! I am so sick and tired of this rain/snow/freeze crap we have been stuck in for ever! This entire last year has been miserable weather-wise in coastal B.C.. I just hope this summer will be alot longer than the 2 weeks we got last year |

Yup - Arizona is pretty great. In some parts of the state you only ever get winter and summer. Where I'm at in the 5000+ foot level, you get all four seasons, and sometimes a decent amount of snow. Just the other night, the overall low temperature was 14f, while in the summer it will reach as high as 115f. A lovely place with all kinds of stuff to do. Glad you enjoyed your stay Tuna! Be sure to come back for the big rocks next time. |

If you just came down here you came in the best part of the year for the most part, it gets too hot in the summer I have been stationed here for comming on 7 years (Air Force) it was great for the fist year, being from Seattle but after that Tucson AZ just too much heat. Plus I like to fish and hunt not the best for fishing down here uless you drive a few hours hunting is good if you get lucky and draw a tag. I do however really like the wheelling but the summer it just gets so hot and moving that slow. Ther a are some good places to live in AZ that dose get the cooler weather and snow just not Tucson well we did have snow for the fist time in 5 years about 2" down here! Gone by the afternoon. |

Looks like you've never been to Arizona Stereotype's Ya know, it's not like all the roads are still dirt or there's a saloon on every street, or that everyone has a gun strapped to their hip and wears a cowboy hat. I've never been to Texas, but I know there's more there than oil rigs, cattle, and big steaks |

Tucson is the best. Born and raised here, can't imagine living anywhere else. Married a Canadian 8 years ago. Yeah its hot, and as I get older it gets harder working outside all day, but I love it. Crawling year round kicks ass too.

Hell, last year it snowed a foot here in El Paso and the city was in chaos. I can't imagine having to shovel 5 feet of muck in the winter. Hooray for global warming! Nope. Arizona , more specifically Tuscan and Phoenix have a quite a bit of humidity on top of the 100+ temperatures. | |
