What a tard, how is it an RTR crawler with open diffs?

dezfan 01-02-2008 02:03 PM

Great to see crawling getting the coverage it deserves.

RCCA is a few years late to the game.

Aye, how is having open diffs going to make it more user friendly as a crawler?

jaxcoffee 01-02-2008 02:11 PM

Scrool down the page.

Their March issue looks like it's going to be full of crawling information.

Can't hurt.

It won't be a crawler, it is like a wheely king vehicle.

Kamikaze 01-02-2008 02:26 PM

Hey I was in that mag a few months ago.......... (Shameless plug"thumbsup")

I should say not, but RCCA says in the first line "Axial to Release Ready to Run Crawler"
Dosn't give me the impression the writer is very knowledgable on the topic in which is writing.

Jesus guys, your jumping on him for no reason. I think we should all care about people writing about crawling and not attacking a person like retarts .

There are alot of people so quick to start a fight. :?

Thorsteenster 01-02-2008 03:51 PM

Thats what happens when you publish something on the internet, you open yourself up for commentary, good or bad.
I wasn't trying to start a fight, but calling it a crawler and then speculating it will come with open diffs, IMO, don't jive.

How is it that the diff is what makes it a crawler? Not every rig on the trail has locked diffs and they can go rockcrawling.

Shut your cake hole:roll:

Can't you read? What don't you understand about "a very beginner-friendly package" One,it lets the n00b decide how he wants to lock the diff. Two,it lets the n00b take his axles aparts, learn how to work on the stuff and how it all works.

Even at that. Theres something you missed......"but we suspect "

savageracer312 01-02-2008 04:28 PM

sorta what i was gonna say because they can gain experiance and find out for themselves what a real crawler is!

JohnRobHolmes 01-02-2008 04:34 PM

I would never break driveline with open diffs! Great for beginners!

Thorsteenster 01-02-2008 04:57 PM

OK, fine and dandy, but don't call it a "crawler" with open diffs, especailly a RTR crawler. Thats less beginner friendly for newbs if they have to take it apart to make it a crawler.
Here's an RTR crawler, although you have to disassemble it, modify it, then you can crawl! whoopy, double
Might as well throw in slicks and a high RPM low torque motor too and make it a true "crawler" so when they get tired of it doing nothing on the rocks from open diffs, they can tear it up on 'phalt.

Thorsteenster 01-02-2008 05:02 PM

And I stand by my tard comment, who suspects open diffs on a crawler?
Mmmm....cake....

not knockin the article and I did see the "we suspect" thing but how is giving someone a "crawler" with open diffs a good thing. you need to think about allot of the noob's that have been thru this place and can't think for themselfs. not saying we need those type of people but if you gave me a "crawler" with open diffs I'd loose intrest prety quick and say that the rig is prety lame.....

but I do think that if they (people who would buy the rig) can't figure out that the diffs & trany need to be locked, then they should'nt be into the RC crawling hobby.....
