| i have a new respect for rent-a-cops
well dad manages the bank building we have our office in (architects), and one of the other bank branches recently got robbed, so now they hired off duty state tropper, police officers, etc. well one of our builders we do plans for is a state trooper. and out of curiousity we asked what those guys get paid. all they do is show up, walk around, make there presence know, badge and gun handy. well he said 10 years ago they got paid $18 an hour, but that now the going rate around here is $35 an hour now where you guys are from that might not be much but in our little town $12 is a DAMN good job. (small town) he said the larger towns pay even $45 an hour... to stand there! i was just blown away.... |

Yep, and when you see cops sitting on the side of the road to indicate a construction area.....same pay rate applies! Although, recently, they have cracked down on police vehicles being used for these jobs...

Yep, sounds boring. I have noticed here recently that they are using private (non-police) vehicles for these jobs....still in uniform though.

Vegas pays about 12.50 an hour and that is armed with your own gun. Nobody else's shit is worth taking a bullet. |
