| Jeep EarthRoamer XV-JP (pics) penthouse suite on the top floor looks like a nice spot for a plasma or projector... PRESS RELEASE from EarthRoamer: The Jeep Rubicon Unlimited based EarthRoamer XV-JP is designed to carry two adults on technical four-wheel drive trails to remote camping locations. Once in camp, the XV-JP's Loftop™ can be deployed to provide nearly 9 feet of interior stand up height and a queen-size bed in the loft. Underneath the cantilevered loft, the rear tent can be dropped down for an additional bug free living space. The XV-JP comes equipped with 25 gallons of fresh water capacity, an inside cassette toilet, inside shower, sink and cooking facilities. Plenty of light and ventilation is provided by an abundance of screened windows. An electric fan provides additional ventilation when needed and the forced air furnace will keep you cozy on cold nights and when winter camping. Live Your Dream!™ EarthRoamer’s latest expedition vehicle, the XV-JP, has just become a reality. Based off concept drawings first shown off back in January 2007, and built off the new 4-door 2007 Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, the XV-JP features an integrated camper “shell” with a roof-mounted tent with sleeping space for 2 adults and all the amenities and necessities for extended-length overland travel. Check out a photo of the roof tent deployed and some preliminary specs after the break. The best one-word description of an EarthRoamer Xpedition Vehicle is freedom. EarthRoamer XVs give you the freedom to travel confidently and comfortably anywhere you want, whenever you want, without concern for the weather or season. It's the freedom to head out on a trail in the middle of Baja to a pristine secluded beach. It's the freedom to camp safely with all the comforts of home high in the mountains - in the middle of winter! It's the freedom to hit the road for a four-month expedition to Alaska and wake up to a different beautiful scene outside your window every morning. Fishing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, photography, surfing, boating, racing - no matter what your passion, an EarthRoamer XV is the perfect base camp. EarthRoamer XVs provide the freedom to escape the stresses of everyday life and lets you enjoy nature in peaceful isolation. With an EarthRoamer XV you truly can live your dream! Highlights: • Electric motor-powered Loftop™ opens to provide nine feet of interior stand-up height, a kevlar rope-supported, cantilevered queen size bed, and a combination tent/screen room under the rear of the Loftop™. • Interchangeable “skins” for the Loftop™ let you customize your rig for different weather conditions and are available in all-season, extreme cold weather, and high temperature radiant barrier designs. • Composite sandwich construction body provides a high strength-to-weight ratio. • 6100 btu forced air furnace, electric fan ventilation and large windows with built in screens and sunshades keep you comfortable year round. • Engine-heated 4 gallon hot water tank and a 25 gallon fresh water supply provide plenty of hot and cold water to the indoor galley and shower. I'm not really a "Jeep guy", but that's right up my alley It's nicer than a tent and a sleeping bag, but still not some huge RV. |

I was at the Chrysler dealership today (PT Cruiser snapped the timing belt) Saw the 4 door Rubis there. What a joke! $33K and 16MPG?! My Z71 gets better mileage than that and it'll tow a trailer. |

as long as you can get it without the decals, that would be cool.

| They are mostly BTO so customer chooses paint and options. They have them on Dodge trucks too. The Jeep thing is newer than the original roamer. I live really close to the factory, they always have a model out front parked on the rocks... Pretty cool, but the cost makes me cringe. I would still like to see a R/C version of one... |

Thats the coolest RV ever. If there was a way to get a power wheelchair in there I'd get on the waiting list today.
