Ok, So lets shoot for 9am at Daniels Park. I don't know Daniels park so I'll leave it to those that do as to where we meet and crawl. I'm sure Turtle can guide us there.
Gonna be fun, i'll bring gates and my score stuff. If anyone else has these items bring them, looks like we might have a decent turn out

Not for just playing, Patrick and I have been skeptical about holding comps there and getting kicked out midday.

Everything at Daniels of course is play at your own risk though.

It is at your own risk.
Jeff and I contacted them to see about getting permission for the scale series and the very firmly said no! We could not talk to or reason with them at all.

It is a Denver Mountain park, there rules are pretty clear as to what you can and can't do.

I know that people go there all the time and have not had issues, but it will only be a matter of time before Daniels Park will become what Red Rocks is today.

maybe we should go somewhere else then. if we have a good turn out there's a good chance it's gonna draw some attention. I'm sure if it's just a few people going down there the chances of trouble is slim to none but if there's 10-20 of us there tomorrow they could give us problems just to prove a point.
I don't want a simple for fun gtg day to get ruined by us all getting fines for this.

suggestions, comments, ideas? Coal Creek is close, Buffalo Creek, maybe even Palmer??? I'm wanting some natural terrain for sure.

I'll go with what the majority wanna do. But I would hate for us all to get in trouble for sure.

Im alright with daniels park, so if it ends up being daniels then im in but other wise probably not. If you dont attract attention then you shouldn't have any issues.

Not exactly though, unless you are talking about the park. Daniels has always been off limits, even when we used to comp there, the difference was we knew this and tried to not draw attention to ourselves, it changed when people started contacting them drawing attention to the situation and making them have a more watchful eye to our presence. But Daniels has a very relaxed method of patrol of the area compared to Red Rocks park.

So since we won't hold comps there due to the "what if" factor I don't see the harm in playing there, the spot is already ruined for comps, so might as well get some use out of it.

This is my take on it, if guys don't want to go that is fine. I have talked my way out of parks and trespassing tickets before so Im not too worried.

I know Ty, I was just letting people know what I found out. I knew this too, but after attention was drawn to it I tried to do it the correct way and that was the answer I got.

I don't care one way or the other, just letting people know what I was told.

Have fun I always really enjoyed crawling there!

I'm in.

Daniel's is technically off limits. However, very few people in Denver Parks are even aware that there is a rule that technically prohibits rc cars. I did talk to the one guy who did seem to be aware and his attitude was along the lines of "yeah you shouldn't do it and we will ask you to leave". I also checked with some friends at Douglas County Sheriff and they had no idea that there was any issue with rc cars.

As others have stated, this is at your own risk. These were all informal conversations that I had. I've never had a problem at Daniels but that doesn't mean we might get some park ranger on a mission. I feel the risk is minimal and will plan on Daniel's for tomorrow.

Besides, I'm pretty sure smoking weed is against there rules, and every time I've been there, it's a never ending stream of teenagers heading into the park to light up.

Todd:

I know man, I wasn't arguing with you or placing blame, just letting everyone know the way I see it.

From I25 exit the Castle Pines Exit and head West for 2 miles or so.. when the road turns to dirt you are about 1/2 mile from the location.

taken from the crawling atlas.

There are a couple ways there, but this should get you close.
