Default New guy from Denver

Hi all, just wanted to say hi. I am new here and new(again) to rc cars. I had a monster truck about 20 years ago(boy have things changed) and i am getting back into these. It all seems so overwhelming and I have nothing so I am starting over and trying to figure out what I need.

I am looking to build a Jeep JK crawler. I hope to learn a lot here and maybe be of assistance to others if I can.

If anyone has any advise I am all ears and would love to learn all I can about this. Maybe if someone could point me in the right direction also on how/where to find a good start up rig for what I would like to build, that would be great.

Thanks

The best way hands down is pick up a trail ready axail honcho kit thats what almost every scaler guy starts off with plus there the best and most supported rig out there

Welcome.
I run the scale series here in the Metro area. We are between series at the moment, but the plan for now is to get started here some time in January/February. SparkyJ puts on polar bear runs when there is enough snow. It is very laid back, tons of fun, and it's run what you brung.

There are some new scale rules coming out, but if you click the link in my signature you get an idea of what most of the rules are. That link will also have many pictures of most of the rigs that guys run around here. If you have questions don't be afraid to ask.

Thanks, Todd.

Thanks Rogue, I will be sure to look into that.

I am thinking of the Honcho rig. Anyone have any good or bad opinions on them? Anyone have one they want to sell?

Thanks

Best thing you could do at this point is buy a green star,,its $20 and gets you into the for sale section on the boards...you can find just about anything and everything you want in there. If you are looking at going scale then check out the scale forums too,,,1.9 and 2.2

Just add a BEC and drive it. Replace things as they break or to customize it a bit.

battery eliminator circuitry.... its a stand alone power source for the receiver...buy a castle except no others....it provides full power to the rx no matter what....binding up the servo and hitting the gas on a standard internal bec will cause the car to lose connection with the controller or brown out, when the effect is just enough to sap the power it will cause the car to glitch and jolt...just not good for the electronics or drive train as well as it can be really frustrating
