Steering servo upgrade

How's it going guys, nutternugz here. Got a quick question, getting ready to upgrade my servo and was wondering what all of your thoughts were on which way to go.

Running a Nightcrawler, pretty stock. Only major mod so far was a motor swap to a traxxes Titan motor.

...And by the way had a great time at RCH last Friday, you guys are awesome to hang with and i learned a lot, looking forward to running my rig with you guys again.

Hi Tec HS-7950 is the best in my opinion. They aren't cheap but they are awesome.

Most of us here run them, but some run the JR8711's I just don't have any experience with them.

X2 hitec 7950. You find them online for about $125 but a worth while investment "thumbsup"

X3 on the Hitec HS7950 but remember once you get a big servo like that you need a BEC as well to power the monster. Plan on another 24.99 for a Castle BEC.....Just want to make sure you do it right the first time."thumbsup"

If you don't mind paying full retail for the HiTec HS-7950 and a Castle BEC, look at a few of the local area stores.
I purchased my HiTec HS-7950 and Castle BEC from Colpar Hobbies (west store location). They also programmed the BEC for 6.0 volts (increased from the stock 5.0 volts).

Well walt you need to have the BEC programmed to 7.4v for the 7950 for max performance .........."thumbsup"

True but even at 6 volts its got over 300 torque and will probably last longer since it won't be maxed out.

I wasn't sure at what voltage I should have it programmed. Since I run 7.4 volts (2S LiPO), I thought that was a good compromise.
Even at 6.0 volts, it sure beats the 100 ounce of torque that my previous servo put out!
