Default Colorado Crawl Off

Ok so the plan is for June 4-5. The location will be Johnson Village/Buena Vista area. 1-5 miles off 285.

The best spots may require us to carpool in from a campspot, meaning cars can make it but will take some finesse and may scrape bumpers or undercarrage. Cars with good ground clearance are ok, SUV's and trucks recomended. Is this ok?

Top 5 drivers from both regions will need to attend, I am working on the format now, and am welcome to idea's.

I will post more as I can.

The comp will be in this general area:

Is this going to be our finals for the season as well as the shootout?

I think the plan is for the final event of the season to be May 22 and this to just be the crawl off since the distance is pretty far for a regular season comp...

Sounds good to me. Standard 5 courses and a final or we doing a marathon?

You want a course that is a mile or two long?

I can build that.

Is this open to anyone, or just the top 5 from each side?

It will be open to everyone, but the main focus will be the Top 5 Crawl-Off.

The surrounding area is great, tons of camping, ATVing, 4 Wheeling, rafting, hot springs, etc. And the rocks hehehe good stuff!

Carnage and Chinaman's is just around the corner for those that have good 4x4's too! Not to mention all the passes!

I hope so!!

I ran Chinaman's, and got my Cruiser wedged in the entrance of Carnage. It was fun getting her out! There a tons of great trails for motorcycles and such too, I had a blast back there Saturday and Sunday!

Well if i go, we'll probably bring up the jeep commanche we got, even though its not a trailer queen, it'll probably be on a trailer.

been looking at carnage canyon, hopefully its harder than billings. I'll have to go look up chinaman's .

I'll have to talk to my dad though, i don't have the dough or desire for 8 hours of drive time and over night stay, for a crawl comp. But i'm thinking of turning it into a 1:1 and 1:10 trip.

So are we comping one day or both days? Any fee's?

Was planning on a 2 day event, no fees, cost enough as it is! Just fun crawling (except for the top 5 guys) hanging out, little wheeling, goofing off, anything we can think of!

What does everyone want to do? Please speak up!!

Well I'm top 5, i think, But leave a few hours for other recreational use, carnage canyon looks fun. We can run through billings in about 45 minutes, so a small group of us probably can get through it in a few hours...that is if anyone is bringing their 1:1 that can get through carnage canyon.

I'll run any trail you wanta run, Carnage requires, lockers, low gears, winch maybe, and possible body damage. Chinamans is way more laid back but still fun, I'm down w/ whatever, I've run them both many times.

Yea, you have to go into carnage canyon fully willing to dent/scratch whatever your driving. Youtube carnage canyon v notch.

Here's my question even though I'm pretty sure of your answer I'm gonna ask anyway. If the crawl off is open to anyone will they effect the outcome of the top 5 guys in the crawl off? Are the devil and Turtle doing all course setup or a couple courses from each club?

Ok Pickettt only the top 5 will effect the outcome who goes to Nationals. And as per the guidelines for a crawl off a group from each club will set up equal amount of courses for everyone to run.

Does that answer your questions?

Nah i'm just going to take my stock 90' toy on 31's through there

Here's a few pics of our jeep going through billings, according to traildamage.com they're similar difficulties, so i think we'll be fine.

Post your jeep stance

No winch though, but its geared low, lockers, 35's, now worried about body damage, we can push/pull it all out. But rear drive line is bent, so it'll probably be trailered up there.

But i was just talking to my dad, he said he'll think about going up, he's just as broke as i am, so finding the money is the task. He's been out of the rc crawlers for awhile now, so it'll be a 1:1 trip for him. Then i'll have to see if i can get that weekend off if i end up getting my job at the lhs.

But i'll let him know there is people up for running it, not the best idea to tackle one of the hardest trails in colorado alone.

Nationals as in red rocks? Do we get free tickets, or just invited?
