Colorado Winter Series 2012-2013 Information

5. 4-7-2013 http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/compe...april-7th.html

6. 4-14-2013 http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/compe...event-6-a.html

The Crawl-Off should be the first weekend of June. Gary/gdhknives from Grand Junction will be handling that this year.

Series info:
Series points are used to qualify for the Colorado Crawl-Off and ultimately a shot at the 2 open spots per class at the USRCCA Nationals.
A series entry fee of $20 will be due on or before the November Comp. Drivers may compete in the events without paying series fees, but they will not be able to take part in the point series, qualify for the final event, or USRCCA Nationals spots.
Series points will be given where first place will receive 250 points, second 245, third 240 and so on all the way to 50th place which will receive 5 points. Non series drivers will receive points for the event, but they will not be tallied in the final series standings. When tallying the series scores you'll receive points for the actual position you finish.
The driver with the best score on each course will get 1 bonus series point.
There are 7 events in the series. Only 6 will be scored for the series. This will allow you to drop your lowest score for the series if you attend all 7 events.
Series tie breakers will be based on the driver with the highest average finish position receiving the edge.

Other Event Details:
We will run a free running order. You get in line for the course and run it when you are up in line.
Courses will shut down after 5 minutes of no activity. Judges will call out that their course is empty and the 5 minute time will start. It is up to you to run all the courses before they are shut down. If you do not run a course, you will receive a 50 for that course. You must run the same rig for all courses per event. There will be 3 - 5 courses with up to 20 gates each per event, depending on what site spacing allows for.
We will run a Top 5 finals course after each class is done assuming everyone is still around, there is enough time/interest, etc.
If your rig is not within USRCCA rules, you will not run until you have corrected the issue.

Classes:
We will be running the usual, 1.9, 2.2 PRO, 2.2 Sportsman, and the Super class. Like last year and years past we will be running 2.2's first and then 1.9 and Super. And like always we will have the pot. For each class you pay a $5 entry fee that gets split up into a purse that goes back to the Top 3 drivers. 50% for first, 30% second, 20% for third. So for example if there are 50 drivers first place would get $125!!

Judging:
This year, everyone will be judging at every comp. When you finish your run on course, unplug your crawler and grab the timer cause you're calling penalties and keeping time for the next person in line. After that run, trade in the timer for the clipboard...that's right, you're now scoring for 1 run. Once that run is done, you are free to move on to the next course. After your second run, repeat the above steps, etc. We're trying to get everyone involved in judging this year to help take a load off the guys that are always judging. We will help out those who aren't comfortable judging yet. Let us know, and we can make sure someone can walk you through it the first few times. You can also freshen up on your rules knowledge by reading up on the rules- https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...1pw/edit?pli=1 and taking the USRCCA test- http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/...es-judges-test

Now let us get those crawlers ready to drive hard, have fun and help make this our best season yet! James and Casey have been driving hard and competing at a national level, and we need to gear up to make Colorado National champs again!!

Any question, comments, concerns, please post up or send me a PM.

Thanks,
Patrick

If this is the case how about running three courses and a final for all classes? The whole last season the courses did not fill up in the 2.2 and Sporty classes. Time dragged on and got pretty boring. I say fill up the lines with less courses, bullshit with other people like we used too many years ago. Bring the fun back of getting out, crawling, talking and meeting new friends 8) that what a hobby is all about. I liked it when you could talk about the lines for more then a few minutes when you got to a course.

This is my input so I hope that helps.
