Default Crawloff '13

This year Patrick wanted us on the west side of the state to host. It will be held in Rangely, CO the first weekend of June. I have 2 areas in mind so any pre-running can be negated. There are a few different lodging choices available in the area. Hotels, cabins, paid camping, and lots of BLM area. When the timing is correct, I will release the exact area we will be using. There are areas for 1:1 runs as well. Much thanks goes to 70duncan(James) for helping out with this as well.

Yep, we were tired of the 15min jaunt to Buena Vista. Just ride with Casey, it shouldn't take too long.

Remember it has to be mutually agreed on!!

Also BLM is not too friendly towards large groups, is permission granted?

It better be good, how about some pics n such?

How about calling me like I asked? Are you planning on having more than 20? James has been in touch with the people running the off road park and as long as we have 0 fees, all should be well. BTW, you seemed fine with Rangely or Moab when I spoke to you after last year's crawloff. I can always look down by Cortez.

Not wanting to stir the pot but I'm going to skip the event if its in Rangely or even Moab.
I just don't want to drive that far for a comp. If something more between Denver and Junction can be found then I'm in. But please don't change the location if I'm the only one who feels this way because I highly doubt that ill be able to go to Nats this year anyways.

How is it fine for us to drive 4-4 1/2 hours for 2 years, but when I ask you guys to do it, it's too much? This area has acres of rock that hasn't been touched by either party. I don't typically have a whole lot of free time with my work schedule and family to go scouting across the state for "enough" rock to appease everyone. I have looked in many areas that I thought would be promising in what would be considered closer distance that didn't pan out.Plus the roads to some of these areas added more time and the need for 4wd.

And yes, Kinney Reservoir is nearby as well.

Was the carpool to St. George that rough last year?

The Carpool to Wendover with Casey was pretty rough for everyone in that truck by what I heard.

Makes me happy I was in the other car.

No need to get upset about all this.

Last 2 years I have dealt with it and alot of other bs. Nobody ever complained on your side Gary, that's why we went to Beuana Vista.

There's 2 ways to make it work.

1) Top 5 from each club get agree on location, 3 out of 5 each wins?

2) Forfiet our states invites.

I'm not deciding this, the top 5 from each club is.

Speak up!

There's a reason we didn't complain, it was a good competition. However the drive from here was rough. I am good with either decision. Let's see where it lands.

A big problem we have run into has been BLM closures of areas. I can only get out and scout so much. I can say North of Glenwood has 0 potential. When I spoke with a certain individual last year, I was told as long as it wasn't in the Grand Junction area. Shitty part is, just over a week ago I finally found a huge area in Debeque which sadly is in the area considered off limits, and it would be approximately a 3.5 HR drive from Denver.

I was surprised when I drove all over the roads last summer north of Glenwood and didn't even come across anything to even set up 1 course on. You would think with how the canyon is there would be more on top.
