| Best overall comp tire for colorado
I have been looking into some new tires for comp use on a Moa buggy I recently acquired. Naturally different rock will favor different tires however I'm curious what the local favorites were in a general sense.... I currently have some shaved white dot rovers but am really loving the look of the voodoos I'm curious what compound seems to work here the best? I'd love the trial and error approach but cost and availability isn't ideal. Thank you in advance |

Probably a tie up between Boss Claws and Rovers.

No experience with the Voodoo tires, but plenty with the white and pink compound Rovers along with red dot Boss Claws. Boss Claws can actually provide TOO much traction on sedimentary rock depending on where you are. Rovers slip a little more, but provide a very consistent level of traction regardless if they're siped or not. Traction (forward and side bite) increases when they're cut or siped. Pink compound is mainly good for wet or dust free rocks. Pinks will actually pick up dirt and net you less traction than a harder (white) compound. Cut Boss Claws simply perform better than uncut Claws. Period. What pattern you use doesn't seem to matter. Only the fact that you're opening up the tread pattern is what matters. Marcus |

I have voodoos on my xr and love them. They seem to hook up on any rock that I put in front of my xr.

| Re: Best overall comp tire for colorado Awesome. I've been debating narrowed silvers all around or gold front/silver rear.... I'm going to sort a few other things out for the time being and use the shaved white dots that are on it until I get some more wheel time in. I just love the look of the voodoos haha. Glad to hear they work well out here and the compound I'd been considering weren't too far from what is ideal. |

Just watch the sidewalls on sticks/bushes, they have thin sidewalls.
