Default Colorado Winter Series 2013-2014

Here is the place for all your info pertaining to the Colorado Winter Series 2013-2014.

I will update each date with a link and thread with location, times, etc.

1: Colorado Winter Series #1 10/27/13 Buffalo Creek

2: Colorado Winter Series #2 11/10/13 Daniels Park

: 12/15/13 cancelled

: 1/12/14 cancelled

3: 2/9/14 The Crawl Space

4: Colorado Winter Series comp #4 3/9/2014 Palmer Park

5: Colorado Winter Series Comp #5 4/13/14 Red Rocks!

6: 5/10/14 Coal Creek

7: 6/8/14 Red Rocks

Crawl off TBD

Series info:
Series points are used to qualify for the Colorado Crawl-Off and ultimately a shot at the 2 open spots per class at the USRCCA Nationals.

Series points will be given where first place will receive 250 points, second 245, third 240 and so on all the way to 50th place which will receive 5 points. Non series drivers will receive points for the event, but they will not be tallied in the final series standings. When tallying the series scores you'll receive points for the actual position you finish.
The driver with the best score on each course will get 1 bonus series point.
There are 8 events in the series. Only 7 will be scored for the series. This will allow you to drop your lowest score for the series if you attend all 8 events.
Series tie breakers will be based on the driver with the highest average finish.

There will be no series fee this year, donations will be accepted to help with supplies, travel costs, etc.

Other Event Details:
We will run a free running order. You get in line for the course and run it when you are up in line.
Courses will shut down after 5 minutes of no activity. Judges will call out that their course is empty and the 5 minute time will start. It is up to you to run all the courses before they are shut down. If you do not run a course, you will receive a 50 for that course. You must run the same rig for all courses per event. There will be 3 - 5 courses with up to 20 gates each per event, depending on what site spacing allows for.
We will run a Top 5 finals course after each class is done assuming everyone is still around, there is enough time/interest, etc.
If your rig is not within USRCCA rules, you will not run until you have corrected the issue.

Classes:
We will be running 2.2 Pro and 2.2 Shaft And like always we will have the pot. For each class you pay a $5 entry fee that gets split up into a purse that goes back to the Top 3 drivers. 50% for first, 30% second, 20% for third. So for example if there are 50 drivers first place would get $125!!

If there is enough interest, we will run Super and 1.9, you guys gotta speak up!!

Judging:
Again this year, everyone will be judging at every comp. When you finish your run on course, unplug your crawler and grab the timer and clipboard because you're judging for the next person in line. After that run, trade in the timer and clipboard to that driver. I does not have to work exactly like that but you get the drift, right? We're trying to get everyone involved in judging again to help take a load off the guys that are always judging. We will help out those who aren't comfortable judging yet. Let us know, and we can make sure someone can walk you through it the first few times. You can also freshen up on your rules knowledge by reading up on the rules- https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...hNyzZU3Pc/edit

And take the judges test:2013 USRCCA Rules & Judges Test

So in turn, lets get ready for an awesome season of crawling and bring out the best! This year Casey got a Top 10 showing at nationals and Joey was not to far off with 21st against the best drivers around the WORLD!! (granted Casey was running 2007 technology )

Any question, comments, concerns, please post up or send me a PM.

Thanks,
Patrick
