Exclamation no quick reply?

when I hit the quick reply icon, it goes to reply with quote. It never used to do this. I am running a vista operating system and have the latest flash player update. anyone else have this problem?

The button all the way to the right with the feather and paper? Works fine.

There should be "3" icons, from left to right - "Reply with Quote", "Multi-Quote This Message", "Quick reply to this message"

Vista OS has nothing to do with this, neither does Flash, I get the quick reply button on every OS I have ever used, Vista, XP, OSX, Linux, and in every browser as well.

Be sure that the "Quote Messege in Reply?" box is unchecked just below the text box.

You have to hit a button to "Quick Reply," and you have to hit a button to "Post Reply."

Why use "Quick Reply" anyway?

must be my computer. I have always been able to do a quick reply and now the quick reply button behaves just like reply with quote. You can't check or uncheck the boxes in the quick reply area until you hit the icon but when i hit the button, it brings me to the reply with quote screen. I'm assuming that this is a flash application which is why I re-installed and updated it in hopes of fixing it but it is kind of a pain. I'll try a system restore next.

vBulletin does not use flash. It's a AJAX command that post's the quick reply. Check your javascript settings, try it in another browser. Kinda retarded to do a system restore because this forum doesn't work with your configuration.

He didn't do a system restore, just a Flashplayer install.

its funny to listen to people with minimum computer knowledge try to say what the problem is. hmm i just got an idea for a funny chit chat thread.

But ya try a different browser or if anythaing restore the settings on your current one if that's all you have installed.

I can almost guarentee it had nothing to do with Vista, and had something to do with the settings in IE7. Are you using some sort of Internet Security software? Do you have a update Virus Scanner? Adware Scanner?

I've been using Vista since Nov. 2006 and I don't have any of the problems. It's amazing how people are to blame Vista as the root of all their problems.

I understand, but none of the stuff in vBulletin is using Flash. It's all Javascript and AJAX.
