| Attention Vendors!!!!!!
i have a challenge for you guys. build a transmission with a two way dig built in. say on your three channel transmitter, with a three position switch, center would be both front and rear engaged, one way be front axle dig, and the other way be rear axle dig. would be simple enough to design and keep compact with a slip yoke in the middle of the transfer case. i have been trying to design and build one but i have limited equipment, only a lathe and bridgeport mill with a few cutters. lets see what could be done. ive had situations where rear dig would have been great to have.

The Losi one will not be geared for Axial/TLT axles, only Worm Gear axles. I have a dig like this, it works well and never skips a beat...BERG. | |

| Ideas are easy. Hell drawing them in CAD is fairly easy. Machining affordably, not easy.

damn right machining them not easy. ive only got involute form cutters for 10DP gears and larger and no cad or gear generator. all manual cincinatti arbor mills. ever try doing the gear train ratios for a helical gear? i want to make this a unit like the R2D that can be used in many chassis. and hopefully more affordable and compact than trying to cram a dig on each side of the tranny for the front and rear axles.

would be an easier setup using the CKRC front dig and RC4WD AXD rear, throws should be similar for the single servo operation. but I agree with terror, berg. p!nK |

BTW what would you use front dig for? Honestly curious. Free wheel help rollover, rear dig helps steering and downhill, what would you use front for?

Anytime you want the rear to slide around, rear dig is useful. It works especially well when the rear is uphill from the front.

my deal is i want to make it all one unit. and not have to rig 2 digs on one servo to do it. besides, wouldnt it be cool to get your crawler on some flat dirt and slide it around. sort of dual purpose truck i guess. i love doing that with my ax10. i just remove the front driveshaft and take it in the sand lol... it would just make the truck capable of so much more with less weight added in...
