avatar question

Do you only get the ability to have an avatar when you are a paying member? I've looked and don't see were you can do this.

Haha. I figured this much I just wanted to make sure. All I want is a pic next to my name! lol But I don't want to pay $20 just to get that (I know it comes with more). It costs enough just being into the hobby and competing.

Yup, I'm suprised about 26,362 people haven't pointed that out to you.

I'm made aware of it fairly often :ror:

So you are ok with spending a few hundred or more on a RC but not $20 for 1 years worth of help and advice?;-) Just the giveaways alone are worth it. 8)

I agree why pay for something when you can get it for free right?

Last time I checked it didn't cost a thing to run a forum for everybody to get information on the thing they love:roll:

I don't have a problem with non-star lurkers untill the try to call somebody out! Seriously outofreach are you saying that you would have joined if somebody wouldn't have posted a link of where to join?

What a way to fly under the radar!

legion1capone 05-06-2009 10:22 AM

My Thoughts exactly.

How much has this forum saved you, in the form of not spending money on foolish purchases?

It's saved me quite a bit.. way more then the $20 it cost me, plus a won a set of Rims, $135, and a set of tires, $40....

I think I'm way ahead of the curve.

this is the way I did it:
use the forum without paying till you feel you've gained $20 worth of information, then pay the $20.

It could be three days or three years, that's up to you and how much you value other peoples ideas and opinions.

Seriously it's only $20 for a WHOLE year. What is that like .05 a day. Pay the $20 and then every time you leave the house look on the ground till you find 5 cents save it in a jar and you'll come out even."thumbsup"

Honestly, with an attitude like that, it's likely best that you do just lurk.

Can't imagine you ever being able to provide any helpful insight, if you're not even able to see the logic in providing support for a resource you utilize.

Come on, now, you don't even have to read between the lines: it's about showing support for the help you're getting; it's not that you have to pay for it, first.
