|  Thread/Forum Read Marking changed
I changed how threads and forums are marked as read, before it was browser cookie based so once a user has been inactive for a certain amount of time all threads and forums are considered read. It now uses the database to store thread and forum read times. This allows accurate read markers to be kept indefinitely. This option is more processor intensive so I will keep an eye on the load averages. Now, I don't use the "New Posts" button at all, but I know Jason used to use it religiously (couple years ago) and would not log into RCC unless he had the time to catch up on the new posts. Let me know if you guys like it or dislike it. |

I don't like it more than before...but I don't hate it. It is better for mobile and PC surfing since wehn I'm reading it on the phone I skim more. Just got to remember to mark forums read every now and again and its like the same thing as before. |

If people don't like the new method then I can revert it back to the way it was. Just need people to talk about their feelings with me. |

Sweet. Thanks Badger.  The old way was driving me nuts. Between browsing on 8 different computers at work, browsing at home, and on my iphone I was constantly having threads get marked as read when I hadn't read them, or marked as unread when I had read them. |

Definitely like the new way Took just a little bit to get used to it was all. Now I like it way more than before. I also browse on several computers and my mobile so it works great for me.Quote:

I also like the old way i come and go once an hour and hit new posts and walla get to see everything posted but hell i type with one finger so what do i know.
