classifieds??

Why do the classifieds take so long to update? I posted an add yesterday around 9pm, and its still not up there? Not trying to be a douche- I do check it alot, especially since all the good stuff goes quickly:)
If I can help in any way, lmk.. I know I'm new here, though.
Thanks!

The ads have to be approved by an admin before they are listed.

crunky 04-06-2011 06:32 AM

It takes so long because the admin and mods get to paw over all the goodies. Once they've rummaged, the list goes public for the scavengers.

I have subscribed to the thread, so anytime i gets Updated I get a email, and I go out of my way sometimes to look at every single thread lol!

Hoyta 04-06-2011 10:51 AM

lol- Understand that the admins need to approve it- I can help them if they need the help...

Hoyta 04-17-2011 02:36 PM

Neat- hasn't been updated in almost a day... The mods need some help!

I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that there was a National comp this weekend and the guys are actually out doing some crawling?

dezrik 04-17-2011 04:09 PM

I like that It only updates 1-2 times a day, One big update and I Look at all the ads at one time. If it was updated all day Id have to check it through out the day and probably get fired from my job LOL.

Hoyta 04-17-2011 07:46 PM

Maybe thats my problem- I was laid off a week ago, so I am on the net job searching alot!
Sorry about that- didn't know about the comp. Still, people can help out.....

X2

I also like to add...

The Mods don't get paid for this job and they have life outside of RCC.

WOW.. What concept!

MnRockCrawler 04-17-2011 08:59 PM

Dont get down on the guy. I think he was just saying if it was a issue, he would be willing to help out.
I also dont mind the once or twice a day updates. I like checking out all the new adds at once instead of them being all scattered throughout the day.

jason 04-17-2011 09:43 PM

Go checkout the classifieds on RCLargeScale.com and let me know what you all think.

dezrik 04-17-2011 11:15 PM

I love the classifieds on RCLS.

I realize that, and was offering to help-

The f/s section is nice on rclargescale- I like how everything is broken up into sections.

The classifieds on RCLS is completely different then the forum based classifieds we are using here.

Here are the added features the new Classifieds system has:
  • Registration is the same as the forums.
  • It is integrated with the forum so you can easily check seller feedback ratings, and forum reputation/post count as a guide to the seller's reliability
  • Sellers can place classified ads for fixed prices or with optional eBay style bidding enabled
  • Sellers can upload 6 photos to display with each classified ad
  • SOLD IT! and RELIST IT! options to disable/re-enable ads
  • User feedback system to provide ratings and feedback for buyers and sellers
  • Contact seller page allows buyers to contact sellers without revealing seller email address. This will send the seller an email as well as send then a message in the Classifieds system
  • Allow Users to Buy your Ad via Paypal Immediately, eliminating the hassles of waiting for a potential buyer to get back to you if they want it and to send payment.
  • You can add certain ads to a Watch List to help you to keep track of ads your interested in.
  • You can "Subscribe to Category" to have the Classifieds system send you an email when new ads are posted in that category.
  • You can post comments directly to the ads
  • After 30 days the ad expires and is removed from the system.

**This is a RCLS exclusive right now to see how it works, we may not do the same thing here on RCC**
You will also notice the classifieds system has a "Vendors Market", for now this is for select vendors to sell their products that can't be sold in their retail store because the item has a ding or is an old model or has been returned. This will be a great place to find good deals on the type of products I mentioned.
**This is a RCLS exclusive right now to see how it works, we may not do the same thing here on RCC**

**The below pricing is for RCLS, I am not sure if we will charge per ad here or how much**
Placing a basic ad will be free, upgrading to highlighted (lighter grey background) is $0.50, upgrading to bold title is $0.50, and upgrading to italic title is $0.50 which is paid via paypal when you place the ad.

And, the Honcho shit category would be the same as a scaler shit category.

Why do you think I should have a separate honcho category from the scaler category?
