Default Getting started on the new site***

Here is some info that may help you get started with the new software.

At the top of the page click the button that says USER/CP

Then click on the edit sig button on the left. Edit you sig to remove any html, BB code, or images you may have had in it. These items are not allowed on the new forum.

Next click the edit profile button, and make any needed changes in that section.

Next and most importantly is the edit options section.

check the boxes for enable private messaging, recieve email notification, and show new private message pop-up.

check the boxes for show sigs, show avatars, and show images.

Set the time zone to your correct time.

Under the message editor box at the bottom select standard editor-extra formatting controls.

These things should help, if you think of anything else add it in this thread, likewise if you see someone looking for help, please point them to this thread.

Another thing to help the moderators, if you see a post that you think needs some intervention under the persons name that posted it will be a button that looks like this: Click the image to open in full size.

please hit that button and then type a message of what you think the problem is. This will bring it to the mods attention.

I think you should sticky this post at the top of every forum for a little while.

So far my only real true complaint is that I can't see the scroll bar on the left side of the window.... I can't tell if I need to scroll down to see more or where to "grab" the little bar and move it......

Does that make sense?

Toyofast, that must be something on your computer, because on mine it works just fine, nice blue bar like always. I tried it on IE and firefox, same colors.

Wheeler, at the bottom, far right corner of every post. It looks like a page with a little arrow on it, (just to the right of "quote"). That the "quick reply" button.

I wasn't sure if it would work or not, so I just used a random pic I had saved of someone else's truck. I just use http://www.imageshack.us to host my pics, then cut and paste the img link to my post.

Hope that helps

It should be instant, or atleast mine was. But when it gets activated, just hit 'User CP' at the top right of your screen and then 'Edit Avatar' on the left to edit your avatar.

The way the system works, is you pay money to paypal, then paypal sends a message to our forum software that automaticly puts you into the subscribers group. The whole system is automated, I don't have to do anything, past setting it all up.

From what it appears, Bender you used an ECheck, and paypal will not send that automatied message to our software until your check clears. Which by the email paypal sent me, says usually takes 4 days.

So I guess we have to wait a little bit for paypal to authorize your check.

Sorry,

Jason

Cool thanks, meant to do it from my bank card. I'll have to check my paypal settings.

So how did you find the new site?

I posted announcements in every forum regarding the upgrade and no one reads them and just asked the same questions over and over.
