Not a fan of removing the like button.

Bailing water instead of just putting the plug in the transom.

Instead of a like, now the thread(s) will be full of "nice truck, well done, thats cool, I like that" types of comments. The "like feature" is actually very useful for a forum to keep thread posts down. Seems odd they removed it. UNLESS they are redesigning it to be easier to find. It took me a day or two until I found the link for "like"...lol

Good. Participation and conversation are what forums survive on.

Couldn't agree more on that sir! It was handy but I think it made me a bit lazy on the forum.

Doubt it. Folks will just breeze on by without saying anything. On another forum I frequent that doesn’t have likes I’ve got a thread with over 5500 views and a whole 15 replies.

Do something noteworthy and people will comment. If nobody says anything that's how you know your thread sucks but nobody will tell you.

And you just killed the forum. Let me know how it works out when there is zero traffic because nobody posts.

The like button was not the forum life support.

I have plenty of threads that fizzle out. I refuse to post basic biatch bolt on stuff. When I have cutting edge parts or I'm doing a neat one off type of build i post it. Sometimes the threads catch on, most times it's just me talking to myself and a few likes. Believe it or don't this forum had its hay day before the like button was a thing.

I’m on another forum where they have, or had an agree button, disagree button, a star medal, and maybe a rainbow. I can’t be sure of that last ones, and I’m sure I’ve probably forgotten one, or two of the buttons, possibly one of them was a smiley face for funny. I kept clicking on them to see what each one meant every time someone would send me one. Yep they were so few and far between that I couldn’t remember their meanings. You did get a better sense of what people were enjoying about the thread wether it be the wheels, motor/esc combo...etc, but emoticons are no replacement for interaction, and participation.
