Default Thread Backup

Is there a way to backup our threads???

I was watching the Harley/SBG Live Steam last night and Matt brought up the idea of backing up threads in case this forum would happen to become inoperable.

I tried to search this topic, but came up with nothing.

I would like to find a way to save all of my threads with pics to my PC if that is even possible.

Anybody ever done this??

You could do screen shots but that would be extremely time consuming. Is the site in danger of shutting down?

I pretty much put every one of my build threads on my own personal site.

You can save pages to your PC including images... Somewhere in your browsers menu, or hit ctrl+S and see where that gets you.

There's probably a website or two that'll do that for you too.

I thought about that, but that will take too many years! Not sure about the site shutting down, but Matt just updated SBG to a new(er) version and said that this site is running on an older version that may not be supported much longer. Kinda scary to think we may lose our build info.

Good call! When you say personal site, what exactly do you mean?

I'll give that a try. Thanks!

This is the only way I found so far. I had to change the post count to 40 to decrease the number of pages, then save each page to PDF. The only issue is the pics are missing, but gives a link to open them in RCC.

I'll probably do this for now until I can find a better way. Thanks for the tip Dawg!

Very nice site soze!

I didn't know that you had this site. Well put together and a great way to log and show off your builds!

What are you using to create the PDF? I just tested it with the built-in Save to PDF printer in Windows 10 and I see pictures.

I used the "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread page and clicked "Show Printable Version", then changed to show a max of 40 pages. This showed the thread, but only showed a link to the pics.

So on my attempt today to figure out how to get the pics to show, I think I see the way you did it. I just now figured out how to change the number of posts to show per page in my settings. Now I am able to see 40 post per page which reduces the total number of pages that I would have to save/print. I'm using Chrome, so I clicked the 3 dots on the upper right hand corner and selected "Print...". It now shows the thread with pics. I'll just have to do this for each page of the thread so that I have them all.

Thanks Dawg!
