Default Star discounts?

Sorry if this is newb or stupid but I was just thinking. What about star owners getting certain discounts from certain vendors? it's something that would have to be worked out with them but even if it was like 10% it's something to draw people to buy a star.

Why does everyone want discounts? I don't get it... Does your employer ask if they can discount your pay to save a buck? I bet you'd like that.

They do it every year..... they just decide to pay less and less for our health plans, so it comes out of our pockets..... actually, I dont think thats the case, its actually the costs of the plan increasing, but regardless, its the same to me in the end...

Most of the vendors here don't even clear 10% profit on a lot of the items they sell you.

They also pay for the privilege of being a vendor.

The giveaways, unlimited access to tech, entertainment and forum perks aren't enough to warrant supporting this site?

Think about all this site gives you for free, plus what you get for being a supporting member, and ask yourself if it's worth $20 a year.

Why is it always "what more can I get?" in today's world?

This site promotes, perpetuates and defines a hobby you love!

Ask not what more rccrawler can do for you... ask what you can do for rccrawler!!!

Sorry, but being able to enter giveaways, uploading pics, avatars, profile pics, change user titles, etc.etc. is a great benefit to star holding members.

Most vendors now are making very little profit on a product as it is. They are all here to help us out and not get rich. So why take what little they make away from them, just because you purchased a star towards RCC, not that vendor.

get flamed over a suggestion, I never said that the benifits weren't enough. Just trying to help rcc isn't that what you said? what can you do for rcc, I just thnk that would entice alot more people. I am not a vendor therefore I don't know what there markups are.

Everyone understands that, but its not fair to ask the vendors to give you something discounted because you have a star. The vendors are not benefiting from you purchasing a star. The money from the star goes to the site.

However, like mentioned already, alot of the vendors have contest you can enter if you have a star.

It's hard to take a suggestion serious, that penalizes someone else to benefit you, when you haven't even stepped up to actually support the site.

No matter how you look at it, you are asking to make the deal sweeter for you, when you haven't even stepped up to support yourself yet.

I am not trying to infer that non-supporting members aren't taken seriously, it's just hard to look past the fact that in this instance you are claiming to want to help the site, when you are in fact just trying to help yourself.

Again, I do not represent this site, I am just telling you how it looks to me.

ok so it was a bad suggestion I said sorry for that before I even posted it. I don't know what the markups are of the vendors or where the money goes, I was just thinking of how to get more people involved and benifit the site more. I am in no way looking to benifit me, i've boughten a ton of stuff off of here already and have I complained about the prices? no b/c it's helping people on here. If it were helping myself wouldnt I have a star?

look around and do some comparison shopping. vendors prices are competetive if not cheaper than most anywhere else you can find stuff.
