Default Should there be a 'Toys' section?

i saw this beauty in the 'general crawlers' section today-

K'nex Krawler

i just can't see how this is tech, and worthy of 'general crawlers'. should there be a place for the kiddies to post up their lego and knex creations? or should it be funneled to 'chit chat'?

No, this is fine in General Crawlers. Pretty cool for a Knex deal, too bad it has no steering.

where is the tech? isn't this is RCcrawler.com? it isn't radio controlled, and it's a toy. belongs in 'chit chat'.

what do you think? there are sections for trail-mud-scale rigs, right? last time i checked they were RADIO CONTROLLED! right? what part of that do you have trouble understanding? and that knex, lego, lincoln log, whatever hunk of crap that is, is not a "crawler".

I posted it not to create some huge division in the scaled down world of RC. I just thought somebody might think it was cool. I built it with no instructions in about 20 minutes. I originaly built it to test a suspension idea I had. Then, it turned into what it is now, and my boys love to play with it, so rather than turning it into a pile of shafts and connectors again, I left it together. I am sorry if my "toy" offended you and your manhood. I admit, it is not "RC", but it has a great amount of tech. As said before in the actual thread, it has great value in showing newbies suspension design, gearing, and pretty much what ever they can learn from it.

no, your toy did not offend me or my manhood. why would you even say something so ignorant? every once in a while, someone like you posts pics of a knex/lincoln log/lego nightmare in 'general crawlers' and it just doesn't belong there. either put it up in 'chit chat', or i am sure there are knex forums to meet your special needs. sounds like you and your manhood were offended. you took it personally. i have two young nephews that enlist me to help them build with legos, hot wheels, knex, whatever. certainly isn't an issue about playing with toys. toys are fun!

thank you for admitting that it is not r/c. but having "great value in showing newbies suspension design, gearing, and pretty much what ever they can learn from it." no way. NONE of that is applicable to r/c crawling. if so, prove it. show me just one example of someone using one element of your knex design in a r/c crawler. your upper links are longer than the top links, do this teach newbs efficent suspension design? how about the rubber band shocks? the tires? what exactly does your design teach newbs? "great value"??? so this is more valuable to learn from than a real r/c crawler? do i have that right? what is so ground breaking with your knex design that can be carried over to an r/c crawler?
