making links: how?

I don't have a star yet but I see others w/o stars posting links to other sites. I don't know much about computers. Could someone please help?
I feel like my parents felt when they had me (9yrs old) program their VCR.

When you are in the reply window where you type in your post...in the toolbar above the text box is a bunch of icons. The one that is a picture of a globe with a chain link below it is your "insert link" button. Just click that and a small window will pop up asking you what the link is.

You can right click and copy the link from your browsers address bar at the top when you are at the website you want to link to, then right click and paste into the text bar of the small window that popped up when you clicked the "insert link" icon, then just click the OK button in that small window and it should add the link into the large text window where you're typing your post.

Also, if you hover the mouse pointer over the icons in the toolbar, it will tell you what that particular icon will do.
