Default SuburbanChicagoRockCrawler indoor Comp #2

Hobbytown Orland Park
feb 23 2008
12pm signup 1pm Drivers meeting
2.2 class only

the course is tighter than we are used to using and is a synthetic course so it should change up the series.

Just a friendly reminder about this comp. I know I have talked to several people in person that are planning to be there. The event is in the store next to the hobbyshop, IT IS NOT IN HOBBYTOWN. It is the door to the right of the shop.

I dont have any pics of the course, I have only been able to view it once and it wasnt completly built when I did. Its a spray foam covered in bedliner course. Im not fond of the looks but it crawls allot better than it looks, all sorts of traction. It is kind of a trials course in a way, should be a fun time and I doubt there will be many broken parts.

Thanks Mnster, I forgot about those... hopefully the course will be larger, the owner was planning on adding on.

Yeah it looks good, its that next course in the series at that other location in Naperville that I'm more worried about. Pebbles stacked in the corner of the shop = lame.

I think we could lay a decent run through the course then reverse the direction for course 2. It's no Naperville Hobbytown course but I think it will still be worth it. Hopefully the owner will see the crowd and see the need for addtional add ons.

I'll be looking up the the new rules this week and get back to you on the questioned details. I'm thinking we will need new score sheets though. I don't know if you just want to complete the series on the 2007 rules before making the swap?

the score sheets we used at the last comp were the 2008 sheets (at least thats what the PDF said). Would sure be nice to have the clarrification on those rules we discussed.

Im crossing my fingers that comp 3 is better than we are expecting. I think this comp (comp 2) will be good. Its small so we are kind of limited in the amount of different lines we can run right now but, I think we can get at least 2 comps out of the course.

looking at the pictures I can tell you...I dont have a clue. I would suggest reviewing the rules so that you can make sure you are in compliance http://www.usrcca.com/rules2008.pdf

As for turnout, I expect approx 20 trucks and an unknown amount of spectators.

The fee was sprung last min buy the hobbyshop, SCRC has nothing to do with the fee. I am working in conjuction with Brian from BigsquidRC to have the fee removed. I do not know if they will remove the fee. I appologize, I had no forwarning of any kind of fee for this event. All SCRC indoor comps are intended to be free, we have not voted on any kind of fee's. (Although bribing the judges is encouraged )

Just got off the Phone with Bigsquid....
The fee has been reduced to $10 and if at least 8 people show up there will be a $25 gift card to the winner.

Ya, it's an Extreme racing carbon chassis.Stock clod axles with shoe goo lockers. The center of the chassis sits about 3.5-4 inches of the ground. 12.5 inches of wheel base. Somewhere arround 12 inches total width.2 hand wound Fantom racing checkpoint 65x1, powered by a XL super duty and 4800 Orion lipo.
