I plan to be there with a 2.2 Comp rig.

I have to work on a crazy project out at UVA that has to be finished that week (spring break), so not 100%, but that is the plan.

edit:..............and with like 30 minutes of drive time on it! I wouldn't know what to do at a GTG/Comp with a rig that I had experience on. :)

Got my team brood 75t motor in today so I'm gonna start on my tuber build for this week-end, wooowhooo, watch out for the GREEN MANILISHI . . .

Hey Swell and Rubi have you guys made sleeping arrangements for Tenn. yet? What day do you guys plan on leaving to head down there? I was thinking about hitting the road on the 10th. Getting there that evening and having the 11th to mess around before the comp on the 12th. Since it does start at 7am that morning.

Alright.........I'm ready! Rig is loaded up with a Rooster Crawler and two 65 turn lathe motors. No more 10 second runs(I hope)!"thumbsup"

Robb 03-06-2008 08:58 PM

Everyone remember a rain coat. Might have some interesting weather until noon or so.;-)

'04 Rubicon 03-07-2008 08:11 AM

Calling for early morning rain Saturday. Its gonna rain all day today and tonight as well so I'm hoping that the storms will die off pretty early Saturday morning.

We'll still be there and ready for registration at 9:00, may have to wait a while if it is still raining early but it looks like it's gonna stop not too long after that. Those are gonna be some slippery rocks!

Scooteracing 03-07-2008 09:35 PM

Rain or Shine I will be there.

I'm bringing extra umbrellas, we'll make you stand over the trucks as they drive the course to keep them dry.

I am going to have extras though, to cover my trucks and stuff in case a brief shower comes through. They've saved my truck when that sudden downpour comes from nowhere before. I'll have a couple for anyone else to use if needed.

Got my rig done about 11pm after a bunch of tweeking. So, tomorrow will be it's first run without any testing of how it setup now..........

..........and I wouldn't have it any other way!!"thumbsup"

Riffister 03-08-2008 05:37 PM

Wow! What a great time...I never knew last place could be that much fun, even with the strange weather! Thanks alot guys, today was a learning experience for sure. I'm sure there will be many mods made by a lot of us, and it will just get better. My buddy that took the pics today took over 200 shots so there ought to be some good ones up soon."thumbsup"

Had a great time today with all you guys!! I wish my rig was a little more cooperative than it was, but the bugs will get worked out (gonna attack the glitching via 3-4 means tomorrow).

And Chris, could you email me that pic of my rig in that "precarious" position that you took?;-)

Riffister 03-08-2008 10:14 PM

Well, he's not really a pro...but he takes some damn nice shots. It's a hobby of his and I think he enjoys the practice!

"thumbsup" I had a blast. It was my first comp event and learned a ton. I would like to thank everyone for making me and Butch feel like one of the crew and am looking foward to the next event.

'04 Rubicon 03-10-2008 06:49 AM

I must say that I had a really fun time and was glad the weather cooperated and let us get in all 3 stages. Although it made the rocks pretty challenging.

I wasn't able to get online to post the results this weekend and sure enough, I left the scoresheets at home today. So I'll post them in this thread later tonight.

swell searcher 03-10-2008 10:25 AM

i'll have the overall point standings posted tonight too. i'm trying to figure out some interesting stats...
