| Man, nothing but problems so far, first i stripped out the mounting holes on the tranny, second my upper links are way too short so I'm fabbing my way through that, and now it looks like I have to mount all my shocks shaft side up which could interfere with my axlemount batteries...um yea other than that it's going right along |

Looks like it is going to be a good crowd this time, if the weather cooperates. A couple of suggestions if I may add; All attending PLEASE review the USRCCA rules found here: 2008: USRCCA Official Rules Info This will help in understanding what you can and can't do personally. This will also help in having the ability for more people to judge. We may find ourselves easily running 2-4 vehicles at a time (various portions of a course, different class, different course, etc), and with two judges needed per running vehicle ............this adds up. I think it would be most helpful if all attending had the ability to judge if needed. Let's shoot for all attending to be present by 9am. The quicker we get together and organized, the quicker we can get rolling, and hopefully accomplish all of the courses we want to run...............i.e., more comp time!! Understanding vehicle requirements (shown in rules above) will also help in cutting down on tech inspections. I can be onsite around 8am if my assistance can benefit in any way. Just let me know. |

If enough of us judge...we could even run 2.2 comp on one course while 2.2 scale is on another course.......or something!

I agree that everyone must familiarize themselves with the rules. Please read them if you have not already and if you have any questions, ask now or at the drivers meeting. We have been working on the best way to get the events to run faster and smoother, and here is the idea. Stages: Stages will be run simultaneously, spltting into even (or best we can) groups per stage, based on the number of participants. If there are 10 people, we will run two groups of five; 15 people, 3 groups of 5; 21 people, 3 groups of 7, and so on. The groups will be determined based on pre-registration here and then a random generated sequence using http://www.random.org/sequences/. Once the sequence is generated, we will be grouped; ie. first 5, second 5, etc. The results will be posted in the comp event thread, similar to this example. Example: I entered 1 - 13 and the below came out, so based on registration, this would be the grouping and order: Random Sequence Generator Here is your sequence: 10 11 8 12 9 6 7 5 1 3 4 2 13 Timestamp: 2008-03-21 15:38:31 UTC Stage 1 10 Rck Crshr 11 Mariner 8 Jacob 12 Banchee 9 Robb Stage 2 6 Alyssa B 7 Scooteracing 5 lukebuffington 1 '04 rubicon 3 chargerguy Stage 3 4 riffister 2 swell searcher 13 Oldschoolford Those that sign up after the groups are determined or those that just show up at the comp will be distributed into the groups as the first to go per group. So if two people not registered showed up, they would become the first and second on stage 3. How soon before the event should we create the groups/order? The day before? Using this grouping/order method will help save us time when trying to set the groups, order, etc. All of this will be pre-determined before the day of the comp and will not have to be done that morning. Judging: We are asking that everyone who participates in a comp, be able to judge. Therefore, everyone in the club will learn how to judge. You can learn at the events, it's real easy and we will help new people. This not only helps you understand how things work, but helps the event go faster. The starting order per stage will be determined using the method above. Once the order is determined, and the stage starts, the first person will drive and the 2nd to last and last person will judge. Then the 2nd person will drive, and the last and first person will judge; 3rd drive, and 1st and 2nd will judge, and so on. This will enable us to know who is going to judge when, and still allow the person who goes next to have time to get their truck ready. This also prevents having the same two or three people judging over and over. If one competitor is new, and does not know how to judge, another participant will help, and will have to judge more than once. New judges will be tutored until they and we are comfortable with them judging on their own (we did this last comp with good success). We will review at 9:45 the rules, stages, and give a quick lesson on judging. I plan to be at the location around 7:30 am to begin with stage setup and to get organized for registration and Tech. And on that note, please make sure that your truck meets the USRCCA rules. We have been sorta lax on checking and enforcing it, but as the season goes along, we will enforce it more. I'm not even sure it's an issue as I don't recall seeing any truck that I thought wouldn't pass. So, everyone please try and be at the location by 9:00 am, we'll get all the registration and tech taken care of, and be on our way. Looking forward to this one, you guys that have not been to Fredericksburg yet, are gonna really like it. |
