So how many people are on the list JIA? Did UROC give a limit on how many people they would allow in for free?

I have 26 on the list as of now (1st post) ...wasn't given a limit. I'm fairly sure that I don't need to say it, but just incase... Everyone that has signed up for the RC portion of things, and is getting free admission to this event, is in effect getting paid by UROC to entertain the crowd and put on a show...just like the 1:1 guys. Granted, not all of us can run all the time, and you won't be expected to NOT watch the 1:1 rigs, but everyone that will be in attendance will be there to show off your rigs, talk about them, and get people involved, and promote the hobby. I figure we'll be taking turns running anyway, so it shouldn't be too big of a deal. During down times of the 1:1 comp, we'll likely be on the 1:1 course with the rc rigs, so be prepared. Considering that this IS a UROC comp, you can expect ESPN, local news crews, and various 1:1 magazine media types to be present. Do the right thing. So if it helps, think of yourselves as RC Ambassadors. Several eyes will be on us, so let's do the right thing and put on a good show. I will speak with one of the guys from the Xplex tomorrow to nail down a few things regarding placement of the rc course as well as various other things...so I'll have more information tomorrow. Just got off the phone with Glynn. He assured me that power will be taken care of. We will need to bring tables and chairs. If you've ever raced RCs before, just bring stuff to set up your own pit space. Jason (Hensel) is bringing a 10'x10' canopy that will have a few rigs on display as well as be a handout point for the free issues of RC Driver. Glynn mentioned a few possibilities for the RC crawling course, we'll get that nailed down Friday morning. If you guys want to have a full-on RC Crawling comp, we can start that Saturday afternoon, prior to the start of the 1:1 comp. |

If you plan on being part of the rc crawling I'll put you on the list. Doesn't matter how long you've been into the crawling portion of the hobby, we'll be there to just get some exposure for this aspect of the hobby. There's no better target audience than at a 1:1 crawling comp. (although I doubt it'll happen) My concern is putting people on the list that are only looking for free admission to the 1:1 comp. If this happens people may find themselves paying for admission Saturday. We really need to make ourselves accessable to everyone there. If UROC wants us to hit the 1:1 course during a slow point, that's our purpose. If you've ever gone to a Monster Jam event you've no doubt seen RC rigs in action. You can either pm me your name(s) or post'm here and I'll add'm to the list. The list that you see in the 1st post is what I'll be turning in when I arrive early Friday morning. Everyone on that list will be turned in to folks at the gate that day. |

I agree with Jason. I'm not directing this to anyone at all, but if you do have your name on the list, make sure you will be part of the RC deal. If not, you will have to pay for admission. This is gonna be a big deal for the RC world and we want to try to make this go as smooth as possible so we may be invited again. We don't want to go up there and act like total jackasses. That would give the RC world a bad name. Specially as seeing that Jason( CarnageCrew) is one of the competitors. So let's just stand up and show some leadership at this event. Then after it's over, we can all go back to being obnoxious dillweeds again |

Mike, I'll add you to the list as soon as I'm done with this post. if you follow the link in the 1st post, you'll find info for the Xplex, including a website. The exact address listed on the Xplex site doesn't show up on mapquest or yahoo maps, so I'm just going to use the directions listed on the site. I figure once I hit one of the main streets listed in the driving directions I'll be able to stop and ask if I get lost. |

I thought I might type up a spec sheet on my rig, print off several copies..... list the kit, electronics, etc. and their prices, so if somebody comes along interested in getting into crawling with a TXT-1 they'll have a pretty good idea where to start and how much it's gonna cost them. Wadday'all think? | |

Sounds cool, but not sure how practical it'd be. I figure we can answer questions as we goof around and hand out mags at the booth. |
