Ok guys, if you haven't signed up for the comp yet, do it today or be first in line Saturday. I will be determining the running order either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Can you believe the weather looks like it will actually be nice. We won't know how to act without rain.

As usual I plan to be there at 7:30 to scope things out and start setting up the courses. All of you are welcome to come and help with setting up the courses. I'd like to do it similar to the last comp and have all three courses setup by three different people if possible. So if you want to set one up, show up and speak up, or just follow me around and tell me what you think or how you think a gate should be, I don't mind and encourage it when I'm setting them up.

Weather looks good so I'm excited about this one. See you guys tomorrow monrning."thumbsup"

What a nice day Saturday. No rain, lots of sun, and dry rocks, for once. Wish more guys could have made it out as it was some good crawling.

I think the courses were designed pretty well this time and were not as hard as the last event. We were able to finish each one, even though there were some tough gates, they were all doable.

Course one had a couple tough sidehills and caused many of us to roll once or twice, but for the most part, wasn't too bad. It was a pretty decent climb from the bottom of the big rock, around the middle with the sidehills and a couple good turns, then all the way to the top with the last gate. I think John was the only one to make the bonus gate, not sure how he did it, wish I'd have seen it.

Course two was a straight shot with some nice uphil climbs, a sidehill, articulation test, one downhill, and then the final nearly 180 degree turn on the short cliff, which was not as difficult as we thought. Most of us were able to just hook the left rear wheel and turn easily, I didn't even use dig for it. After 'the turn' was the final hill to the finish line, which was pretty easily climbed.

Course three was fun. It was my favorite because we had never run a truck on those rocks before, and I got to watch everyone drive since we all ran together in one group. The course was backwards from what we thought, the gates we thought would be tough were not and vice versa. We thought it would be harder getting up the first couple gates and the last few on top of the hilll wouldn't be too bad. Come to find out, those last couple articulation test gates were quite the challenge. Every single driver had to take at least two or three reverses to make it or take a gate marker. And the final gate which was the steep incline, was pretty simple when we thought it wouldn't be.

Overall, it was definitely a good time for me and I hope everyone else enjoyed it as well. I hope the next comp has the same kind of weather. Looking forward to the next one on June 8th. Plan now!

Overall posted... again, there was alot of movement in the top 10 positions. with 2 events left and everyone driving 10x better than the start of our series, it will be interesting.

i agree with mark, we need to have another comp at the dam, especially once the water level drops and mark picks up his leftover fish :flipoff::flipoff:

banchee 05-24-2008 06:33 PM

just checking but the schedule said june 8th and the post said june 15th and since the vb comp is june 14th then the varcor comp is on june 8th right.:?:

swell searcher 05-25-2008 10:03 PM

yeah, it should be June 8th. that's what i have on my schedule and how the HT VA comp was setup by...

banchee 05-26-2008 05:17 PM
