Figured this might be good for the "old timers" and the fresh n00bs into the competition sceen. Please post up your list of what you pack or bring with you to a competition. I try to pack as light as I can as I pack everything I will need into & onto my backpack. Fewer items I have to drag into the crawling spots, means less I have to take out ![]() For me: 1. Food and lots of water. I always get hungry and thirsty. 2. Canopy for shade(10'x10'), although heavy and a pain in the *** to haul into the crawing spots, it's worth it. 3. Trucks plus controllers 4. Few tools, only the ones that I might need. Plus a few bits of hardware. 5. Extra batteries for radio and RC's 6. Camera, although I can forget to take pictures at least I brought it ![]() 7. A good attitude is the most important. Even when your trucks break and you can no longer run, it's best not to throw a fit like a 3 year old child. People might not want to hang around you for much longer. 8. Learn a bit of good smack talk, it helps motivate some ![]() What types of things do you bring? Let's hear them. |

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned... Duck tape and zip ties! I bring lots of screws and a multi-tool for quick changes. But I also have an assortment of screws and allen wrenches. My truck doesn't break, so why do I need parts??? ![]() Oh, but batteries are very good. More than one pack, all charged ready to go. |

I bring "just about" everything RC related I have. Mostly all my spares and tons of that little odd ball stuff. Its a PITA to lug a big tool box of stuff around but its sure is nice when something odd breaks.. Heck at one comp early this year "SNT Fab" (Dave) stripped out a traxxas pede yoke. At that time I didn't even have my TLT up and running but I had a yoke for him to borrow. that surprised everyone since I showed up with a Clod yet I still had the part he needed.... Then at the last event someone else broke an ear off the same part. (Sorry I forgot your name but you know who you are) and while time was still running, I ran to the tool box got the tools and the last yoke I had and gave it to him. well 1 minute later he was back running the course!!!! So I pretty much bring everthing.... |

This might seem odd, BUT if you only have one or 2 battery packs, maybe a Peak charge that runs on both 12v and 110v, so then you can bring a big battery and a nice charger... hahaha... When I went to High Rocks, all my stuff was in the camper(I guess that counts) but I rarely break things that completely shut me down... Usually some screws get loose and a shock falls off, things like that, or a bolt end isn't big enough and your link comes off the ball, thats a quick easy fix... But for the trip to Washington, I brought: Kyosho Stadium truck travel Bag for all this stuff; Charger 2 batt packs Small standard/Filipse (combo) screw driver with a magnet on the end. That small tire Iron that comes with the TLT Kit(VERY usefull) Filipse BIG screw driver, for those pesky stripped screws at least 10 Nuts and bolts (3/32) Solder, Soldering Iron Copper BB's JB Weld Super Glue Link Ball Ends Balls for links Lots of allen wrenches Link adjuster Spare Servo Mount and the things the servo connects to. Tire Hexes, for those stripped hubs. There is probably more I take, just can't think of it right now. |

i suscribe to the "i'd rather be looking at it, than looking for it." creed. i like to bring spare parts and the tools to fix the rig.
