| East coast reigonal comp next year?
Now that I have the correct forum to post it in How many of you would be interested in a eastern reigonal competition next year. I have seen post from florida all the way to the top of the map on the east coast side. Why cant we organize a crawling series per say with one comp at the tail end of it all to determine the eastern reigon champ. The wife and I will be doing a little traveling this fall to take a break from everything and try to scout out some locations. Tenative travel plans are for north Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, And Illinois. This is an idea that i have been kicking around for a while and think it would be a worth the effort. I am open for any and all ideas and suggestions on this. We cant let Grizzly and the rest of them over there have all the fun. |

I'd be up for it. Maybe if we pick certain states and locations that some of the guys are closest to, they could be in charge of setting it up the indiviual events. Then maybe have a person or persons over the whole series. If I can be of any help just let me know. Kevin |

Thanks Kevin. With the proper planning this can be done. Even the owner of the local hobby store here has offered to help out. Now I am trying to see how much interest there is. We now have 5 people in our area. Theres 4xadict, Jason in agusta, and fishmaxx in the surrounding states. Hopefully more people will speak up with some ideas and interest. |

As much talk about this kind of thing that I have seen on the board I am suprised the aren`t more replies than this. I think it`s a graet idea and it isn`t too early to start setting something like this up, the more planning and thought , the better something like this will work. Also should check for intrest on some of the other boards, like Clod Talk, Rc Universe etc. Just my 2 cents at this point. I would like too see this come together.

I would be up for anywhere I could drive to and get back within a day. Also just a recomendation but why not keep this a point series, and by that I mean have several events in different regions (north eastern, south central, and deep south) using the same scoring and points, then use the points to determine the overall placing. I know for sure that traveling to somewhere like conneticut or Florida would be way out of my range as well as alot of other peoples in the tri state and surronding area.

Keep the ideas coming. I want to plan this so that everyone can get in on the action. Give my some ideas which states you would like the series to be held so that everyone can participate. What type if any classes would you like. A general rundown of rules and such. Firstmustcrawl, Florida is great in the summertime. I want to plan one up that way. You wont be left out. |

With people so spread out along the east coast, maybe it should be a best of event. Maybe we could plan to have six comp over the spring, summer, and early fall. But make the final score only count 4 comps that way you could miss 2 and still have a chance. Or for the guys that make it to more than 4, keep the best 4 scores. All the comps need to have the same set of rules. They should be in writing before the first event and should stay the same throughout the whole series. That keeps it fair. Then at the end of each event a certain number of points is given to the winner, second place, third, etc. At the end of the series, the one with the most points is the series champ. Any thoughts? What I had in mind guys was north Florida around the Destin area, Georgia around atlanta area, possibly north alabama, central Tennessee around the Nashville area, North Kentucky around Elizabeth Town, Central Indiana, Southern Illinois and something around Vinginia. That would give us a total of 8 competitions hopefully this would cover most everyone. If this is accaptable with everyone let me know and we will start scouting out locations.

Guys what if we dropped Alabama and went with 7 states and ran the series from march to september. That would put the comps about four weeks apart each. Start in florida and work up from there.

How many others are in the CT/NY/Mass?RI area? KonaJoe, Trac95ker, and myself have been having our own little crawls in the CT/NY/RI are. I wonder if there is a crawl that we could make it to (maybe a 3 or 4 hour drive tops?) Vince

Aubie, have any idea where in NY? NY can be anywhere from a 1 hour drive to a 6 hour drive for me, depending on what part. Vince
