| Am I legal for 2.2?
Before I continue working on my Timberwolf for Scale Nat's I want to know what the rules committee thinks as far as it being legal to compete in the 2.2 class. Here are some things I'm concerned with. -This class is for the typical trail rigs, that you have modified quite a bit for off road. You would most likely " TRAILER " these to the trailhead. -You must run a complete body, bumpers, including fenders, doors & tailgates. Some fender trimming is allowed but the basic shape must be retained, Fenders may be cut, or flat fendered, but it must resemble a 1:1 rig you'd see on the street. Now, to me, these two seem to contradict each other in that the first rule says "You would most likely " TRAILER " these to the trailhead". but the second one says "but it must resemble a 1:1 rig you'd see on the street". Typically the rigs that I see that get trailered to the trailhead are not "typically seen on the street". I am also wondering if my body trimming is something that will cause a problem since I have removed the rear portion of the body and I now have no rear bumper. There again resembling most of the rigs that I see on a trailer (with current CA registration) but not driving around on the street. Here is another rule that I'm concerned with. - Wheelbase is limited only by your body, and must fit in your fender wells. Since the Timberwolf doesn't have any rear fender wells, how will this be ruled? Here is a picture of what it looks like but now has interior (seats, dash, driver). |
