I've never been to a comp before, but I'd really like to come and run. I'm not positive that I can make it though, is there any problem with just showing up by 9AM and hitting the registration clipboard? eg. is it required to commit?

Also I only have 2 sets of crystals for my AM radio system, Red and Green... can I expect to fit into the Freq chart, or am I out of luck there?

Thanks for helping the newbie!

Mariner 02-21-2009 07:20 AM

Everyone is welcome. You dont have to preregister to compete but if you dont you have to run first. Remember tomorrow is our annual money run so dont forget to bring my $10.00 :D. Most of us are running 2.4 ghz radios and we can make sure you wont be interfered w/.

Ok guys, there will be no groups and running order for this event. We are going to run the free crawl method We will have a set time in which each competitor must be finished with all three of the courses. It is each competitor's responsibility to make sure they complete all three courses in time. I will explain in more detail and answer all questions during the drivers meeting. We will also draft a few all day judges during registration. This should be a good test for the club, to see what those who haven't run this style, think.

I'll be there around 7:30ish in the morning to set up so if anyone else wants to come a little early, please do. I failed to pick up the friggin raffle tickets from Wally World but I may stop in the morning. If not, I'll write em up ghetto style.

Here are a couple more of the raffle prizes:

AX10 spur and pinion gears

GH AX10 Aluminum Transmission case

RCP AX10 Aluminum servo/link plates

TCS AX10 Aluminum Skid

Deans Plugs

Delrin Blank Skid Plate

3 Truck Carriers (courtesy of Metal Militia)

Bring a rain jacket and an umbrella for your rig and equipment. Looks like it's gonna rain for an hour or two and then it's gonna be Sunny.

See everyone in the morning.

The PICS are up!!!

Hi guys. I thought I would share the pictures I took yesterday. Hope everyone doesn't mind. An amateur to say the least but hopefully there will be a couple decent shots in there. Since Picasa only allows 500 pics per album I had to split it into 2 albums. I will at some point upload them to an FTP Alex has setup so you can go download the original. Of course if anyone wants anything removed just let me know. Great run, looked like everyone had a good time despite the early morning rain. Look forward to the next one!

and what did people think of the free crawl? better or worst? i prefer free crawling since you get to choose which course to run, you can finish earlier, and the judging stays consistent.
